I'm still looking for a decent dual dash cam... so many bad reviews on Amazon.

As far as a economical dash cam, I have the blacksys cf-100, which is dual channel. My opinion is that for the price, it has the most features. The only issue I have is the lack of nigh vision, however my solution is to install LED's in my dome light, which I will keep on during the night. They are not too bright and give just enough light so the passengers are not in the pitch black.

I simply copy all my recordings daily to google drive and then clear the card. If Uber or anyone needs the video, I can share the link so it can be downloaded.

I read in some of the posts that the PA law requires notification to assure that both parties are aware of the recording in progress "unless there is no reasonable expectation of privacy".

Question: Does a passenger riding in a TNC partner's car at his own request have any reasonable expectation of privacy?

 

Thanks for the link... I guess signs stating video surveillance are sufficient. Hopefully pool riders don't want to be recorded and cancel.

 

If you record audio in PA, then you must provide notice.

i only have front facing cam. but you will get rid of it. too many stpd pax are asking: "Is that a camera?" I say, no, it's a godamn time travel gadget, what do you think it looks like? of course its a godamn camera. Its my car as well, if you are so concerned. And I do whatever the hell i want with my car. does that answer your question?"....

 

I have been driving for almost a year, I have had the Falcon 360 since day one, on my passenger headrest I have a sign that states:

Audio/Video recording in this vehicle for your & my safety, it cannot be disabled by the driver.

Over 900 trips and not one complaint.

 

I have checked with a lawyer and few other drivers too. In Pa, you can video record only and not be required to post a sign. That is if you are recording the interior of your vehicle. If you are just recording the front and/or rear of your vehicle, you do not have to post anything.
If you are recording video/audio that shows the interior of your vehicle or if your front/rear facing cameras record audio, then the owner/driver must post signs notifying the pax that audio/video is being recorded and can not be stopped by the driver. This is to avoid the wire tapping laws. Likewise if you are stopped by the police, you must inform the officer(s) that you have audio/video recording devices and that they are operating, before the stop is to proceed. The lawyer stated don't be surprised if the officer asks you exit your vehicle.
