The moment two men carjacked an Uber driver in Logan has been caught on video.

Local police are hunting the men, who last night went on a rampage in the suburb of Underwood.

Security vision showed the Uber driver being punched from both sides, as the hooded pair tried to drag him from his car on Ellis Place.

The 35-year-old Uber driver finally relented, with the pair fleeing the scene in his black Toyota sedan.

Witness James Confessore described the violent scene as "bizarre".

"They've reached for the driver's side door, and yelled at him to 'get out of the f------ car' multiple times," Mr Confessore told 9NEWS.

Just 30 minutes earlier, police believe the same two men held up robbed the Hotel HQ on Kingston Road.

Armed with a tomahawk and sawn off shotgun, they threatened staff before running off with hundreds of dollars in cash.

Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Not every day you get robbed by A Tommahawk wielding bandit !
Well TwoFiddyMile is the resident expert on marauder raping and pillaging. What say yea, Tomahawk an effective weapon? Edged weapons scare me more than pistoleros do, I gotta admit. I think it's the psychological effect of imagining watching your severed arm flopping on the ground.

I don't know, sawed-off shotguns are pretty scary as well. It takes some force and even skill to harm someone with a bladed weapon. A shotgun just takes a twitch of a finger.
