If I was a pax on that thing my neck would be hurting real bad.
It was a graze, nothing really. Now PTSD might be better as the tech is new and scary very traumatic.

llot, I remember that. I was in Texas and there were parts all over Texas. I also got to see another shuttle in reentry over Texas. It looked like a shooting star, fabulous. It was probably making 18K mph at that time.

VEGAS ??? GOOD LUCK !!! After tiptoeing through strict Nevada state laws & advertising for drivers, the upper echelon of Uber tossed in the cards & officially opened for bizz in the largest city in the US not to have their vehicles in service. Problem is..... Shut down within one hour by Nv state lawmakers !!! The extremely deeeeep pockets that have pipelined cashola for decades to state of Nv lawmakers have created a hand crafted no tolerance law of ANYONE coming in & transporting people for $$$,, Simply put if Uber really wants a fight against a small experienced crew that transports 40 plus million people a year with literally endless amounts of $$$$ then they have awakened the right people. Within one hour they hooked up 4 vehicles & arrested 4 drivers. That's the way the law reads if your not properly certified to operate & that's the way it's going to stay. With 5 decades of tens of dozens of other people from rickshaws to shuttles to limousines nobody has ever come close & it's not going to change,, PERIOD !!! Old west lives in Nevada laws & this is 100% proof & what STARTED IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS.... The reason Uber waited so long to launch in LV is because old west cowboys hold the bullets for the guns & always will,,, GOOD LUCK !!
'the god': It would appear Waymo the Alphabet self-driving car company in the course of 2018 will operate more robot taxicabs in Phoenix in a geo fenced area of the size of Greater London with modified Chrysler Pacifica minivans than 'the god' of the Las Vegas taxicab cartel taxicab fleet in Clark County after decades of expansion with no competition because of Regulatory capture. Until TK/ Uber team came to town of course !

The incremental approach for a expansion strategy by Waymo growing from 100 driverless taxicabs to 600 driverless taxicabs in the next few months in the Phoenix area shows the tantalizing promise of autonomous vehicles and the need for the human-machine interface (HMI) with help from Intel's Automated Driving Solutions group making transportation safe and easy for everyone.

CarCraft "play back" simulations at any time have 25,000 virtual self-driving cars making their way through fully modeled versions of Austin, Mountain View and Phoenix. Collectively, they now drive 10 million miles per day in the virtual world. In 2016 they logged 2.5 billion virtual miles on public roads and Google's IRL self-driving cars drove a little over 3.5 million miles.

It would appear evident after reading the minutes of the Nevada Taxicab Authority's meeting from May 2017: The errorneous seven year time period for autonomous taxicab services to begin from an individual's interventionist comments suffer from informational problem, which he used to help the Las Vegas taxicab cartel in their rent seeking enterprise. His intentional misconstruction of published evidence to misconceive the known facts are of a bureaucratic self-interest that lack the substantial economic literature on taxicab policy as his statements were made hoping to limit the scope of competition between incumbents and new entrants of TNC operations in Clark County and to stop regulatory reform being offered by the new Chairman of the Nevada Taxicab Authority and most importantly, the fact of the vast consumer surplus offered by TNC operations in Clark County to the public at large.

Hopefully, SoftBanks future investment in Uber by Masayoshi Son and his "Singularity concept" and with Softbanks massive investment in TNC operations around the globe will place special effort into the Las Vegas taxicab cartel pot of gold in the transportation industry by competing against 'the god's taxicab cartel autonomous fleet in Clark County once US Senate passes the AV Start ActBill.

'the god': The paper work is done and extension of series G round led by a consortium of SoftBank and Dragoneer cleared the way for the 10 billion dollar investment in Uber with the Nasdaq Private Market processing the proposed tender offer.

Time for you to compete with Masayoshi Son !

"Small experienced crew with endless amount of capital" you said.

Frias Transportation Management plans to lay off about 160 drivers as the company discontinues their airport shuttle and limousine service by mid January according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal posted this afternoon by the Road Warrior.

In a statement, Frias executives said they plan to focus on the five taxicab companies they own and operate.

"The industry is undergoing a great deal of change with the onset of new business model and technologies," Daniel Wade CEO of Frias said in a statement: "Today our company has taken steps to prepare for those changes."

Frias's decision comes amid plummeting revenue and ridership for the Las Vegas taxicab cartel operating across Southern Nevada.

Officials at the Nevada Taxicab Authority have previously blamed much of that decline on increased competition from Uber and Lyft.

Frias's official would not say how much their limo and airport shuttle has suffered since ride-hailing companies started operations in the Las Vegas Valley.

In the Nevada Legislature Sunset Subcommittee of the Legislative Commission during the hearings to combine the NTA and the TA the gross turnover in the past decade without revenue from the world famous credit card fee of $3.00 and paid advertisement on the Las Vegas taxicab cartel, taxicabs in their testimony by Nevada's most 'famous economist' totaled 2.5 billion dollars.

SoftBank in the last quarter had profits of in excess of three billion dollars !

State of Nevada
Governor's Finance Office

Follow-up Audit Report No.16-01
Page 3/ #11
Finally, it has been (2) years since the audit was conducted pertaining to the Las Vegas taxicab cartel and since September 15, 2015 much as changed in the taxicab industry. TNC operations have contributed to a decrease in rides for the Las Vegas taxicab cartel resulting in excess of 7 over million less trips and over 94 million dollars in loss dollar revenue and 2,000 fewer taxicab drivers being employed by the Las Vegas taxicab cartel. The Nevada Taxicab Authority felt that eliminating the world famous $3.00 card fee would severely cause a negative impact of the Las Vegas 'taxicab god's' profits.

One presumes that Governor Sandoval wasted the over $107,000 contract to conduct an outside assessment of the Las Vegas taxicab industry, that was authorized by the Nevada Legislature after the executive branch audit issued such a scathing report alleging the Las Vegas taxicab cartel bilked the public at large out of $47 million dollars.

The audit stated: 'the taxicab board routinely adhered to the Las Vegas taxicab cartel's industry positions'.

Just like always ! How very sad.

Of course, none of the worthy recommendations by Taxicab Research Partners LLC happened after the a detailed study of the years of the mirage of problems have been given to the Nevada Taxicab Authority.

'the god': Interesting interview this morning with the RTC general manager Tina Quigley pertaining to the future of autonomous vehicles and the contract for Lyft with the RTC starting next year. It was disappointing and perplexing that your future fleet of autonomous taxicabs was not discussed with hallways filled with ivy league graduates working for you to compete with the likes of Waymo and numerous others in Nevada. Hopefully, the most competitive marketplace for autonomous vehicles in America will happen exponentially in Las Vegas.

Professor Daniel Rus of MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) algorithm will create a significant impact for the travel times for visitors to Clark County, once autonomous cars control the strip corridor with positive societal impacts in respect to congestion, pollution and energy consumption, according to Rus.

The beta testing for your app for your autonomous taxicab fleet with spatial architecture and hexagonal global-grid system will set a new standard for app based transportation with vast improvements over Ubers outdated app.

The comments by the Vice Chair of the Clark County Commissioner from District E: "Having only pedestrians, buses, taxicabs and ride-hauling cars allowed on the Strip would relieve congestion and make it easier for emergency vehicles to get where they are needed by making a ban on private cars between the Stratosphere and the Mandalay Bay": Must only include ride-hauling cars/TNC vehicles owned by the Las Vegas taxicab cartel and your god self. This would be impossible for any individual to support Uber drivers and be the future Governor of Nevada. In due course, a written statement and apologue will be required by the Vice Chair on this matter.

409 days left until the 80th session of the Nevada Legislature and Dara Khosrowshahi will begin the greatest battle in his life.

Take your complaints to Twitter but let’s keep it on rates and driver exploitation. At the NYT, At various news outlets. Get some eyeballs. In some places Uber is taking now 75 percent of fares while getting the benefit of us, our cars and our gasoline. This is not ‘doing the right thing’. In Charlotte they are taking all the surge minus $1.50 for the driver(test market). They take 75 percent on some fares.

'the god': No monthly statistics for October 2017 from the Nevada Taxicab Authority. Must have been even more of a failure than usual for the Las Vegas taxicab cartel ? Under 20 million trips for the year around the corner ?

Of course, net revenue grew from $1.66 billion to $2.01 billion for Uber in the third quarter of 2017. Gross booking also grew to $9.71 billion in the third quarter from the second quarter results of $8.74 billion.

Softbank, Sequoia Capital, TPG and Tencent evidently have a vastly different viewpoint about Uber in the future.

The six billionth trip for Uber cannot be far off !

At least they've got something to show for 'stealing surge' from drivers, and overcharging pax. They should save this extra revenue for the upcoming massive lawsuits on the upfront pricing overcharge scam. The settlement should be in the 10s of billion$.

'the god' of the Las Vegas taxicab cartel: It is time for your hallways full of ivy league educated staff to put a great deal more hustle into the task at hand at McCarran International Airport. Just think for one moment if you had to pay over a million dollars to purchase every single taxicab medallion you own and did not have the world famous credit card fee of three dollars to add millions of profits into your kingdom every year and you did not have a surety bond option for your insurance on the ten year old taxicabs that you can now use.

Transportation Network Company (TNC) Count for November 2017 completed on 12/1/17.

The following is a summary of TNC operations at McCarran International Airport for November 2017.

1. There were a total of 183,356 TNC Pick-ups in November that was an increase of 58.3% from November 2016(115,783)

2. There were a total of 232,885 TNC Drop-offs in November, a 42.9% increase November 2016. (162,867)

3. The cumulative yearly total increase is 95.3% with 1,797,703 TNC Pick-ups compared to 920,147 for the same period in 2016.

4. The cumulative yearly total increased by 76.5% with 2,411,360 for TNC Drop-offs compared to 1,365,729 for the same period
in 2016.

5. Since January 2016 TNC operations have Pick-up and Drop-off a grand total of 6,769,845 customers at McCarran and it is almost time for 'the god' to compete with Masayoshi Son and nothing soon, will ever be the same again.

And yet uber has burnt through billions of dollars, and if the Japanese telecom does buy, they'll pay a 30% discount to original price. The more Uber steals and lies to its employees and pax, the more they lose. Scumbag cartels are in the business of making money, but uber is a total PONZI scheme.

For the record the 2017 Third Quarter results for Uber are as follows:
Booking: $9.71 billion up for $8.74 billion in the second quarter.
Net-revenue: $2.01 billion up for $1.66 billion in the second quarter.
Non-GAAP gross profit: $894 million third quarter/ 2017 second quarter results for Non GAAP $865 million.
Pro forma EBIT loss: ($743 million) / 2017 second quarter results for Pro forma EBIT loss was ($894 million)

Gross booking for Uber have grown from $685 million in 2013 to $2.9 billion in 2014 to $8.9 billion in 2015 to $20 billion last year. In 2017 first quarter gross bookings were $7.5 billion and by September this year have grown to $26 billion. Of course, the fourth quarter is the best always for Uber with a little luck the $11 billion mark will be broken for Uber the fourth quarter making $37 billion dollars in gross booking this year. That would double gross bookings from 2016 for Uber. By years end in 2017 Uber will break the 38 billion dollar target for gross bookings.

Uber has successfully increased its share of gross bookings/ take rate from 19% to 21% and will grow that number to 26 percent of gross bookings in the near future. This is why companies around the globe will continue to invest in Uber. An example of this would be an UberPool trip/ non surge pricing I took yesterday from Excalibur to the Venetian the rate for the trips the customer agreed to pay Uber was $8.05 for the trip. The Uber app used the correct route that I followed straight up the strip to the Venetian. My cut of the unmatched UberPool trip was $3.97. The Uber customer was delighted at the price offered by Uber for the trip when I spoke with him. An excellent example of price elasticity of demand.

Uber still has cash on hand of $6.6 billion and hopefully after the SoftBank deal closes the board will send "Mac" from Uber with a top notch team to Las Vegas for the sole purpose of making the Las Vegas taxicab cartel have under 2,875,510 pick-ups trips for the year at McCarran International Airport in 2018 prior to the start of the 80th session of the Nevada Legislature. That would place the Las Vegas taxicab cartel back to 2004 level of pick-ups at McCarran.

Where did you get those figures? From uber of course. The scumbag rudeshare company known as uber hasn't told the truth since day one. I'll choose to believe the Japanese telecoms numbers, thank you. https://www.google.com/amp/amp.time...com/2017/11/29/uber-financials-loss-softbank/

The data came from Eric Newcomer /Five Arrow team members/ SEC filings for Uber and the author of the book "Upstart" along with spending hundreds of hours reading about Uber just this year. No data was written in my post with regard to GAAP losses or the adjusted EBIT losses for Uber or the revised accounting practice for the revenue from UberPool by Uber with the SEC.

The individual group who owns 45% of SoftBank will not allow the Uber brand to end: perhaps one of their future IPO with a value between one and two trillion dollars (that is not a typo 1-2 trillion dollars) will invest even more capital in the future into Uber or purchase a majority shareholding in the company.

This Thursday investor call by General Motors and its plan to introduce an autonomous ride-sharing service controlled entirely by GM, beginning with the assembly of the vehicle represents one of the biggest business opportunities of all time, since the creation of the Internet according to Dan Ammann GM's president and chief of autonomous vehicle strategy told investors.

29 days left until AB 69 can start in Nevada and the best and brightest man and women from the autonomous vehicle industry will compete with the Las Vegas taxicab cartel's billion dollar pot of gold on a level playing field for once and all in the future of the autonomous ride-hauling business.
