I've had a few PAX order an X+, then complain that they wanted a 6 seater. They've obviously wanted an XL and got confused with the +.
If this happened only a couple of times, I'd ignore it. But this is happening 5 times a week. It's bloody annoying.
Anyone else finding this same problem?
Yeh it needs organising even assist is thrown in the back thrown in with the taxis .
Poor riders that need assistance will need to scroll down to the end to get an assist ride
I've had it happen twice, but you would think when they see the type of car (not being intl tourists) they might realise BMW sedans don't come with 7 seats.
Friday and Saturday nights. Airport, Eastern Suburbs. Often I will have only Select enabled.
Attached screenshot is pretty much a normal week, though I haven't finished up tonight.
Also, I'm still a newbie and learning the ropes.
I don't think that ever going to happen . Select are for people who want a luxury cars . No matter what the x+++ or the driver had 5 star rating . it is still a cheap economical car. Right now I assume Uber is paying for the increase for fares in x+ . As I don't think any Uberx pax will wants to pay an extra 20% to get a x+ . think about it . would you pay the same prices for Uberx+ or you can get a Tesla car for the same price .
If you check your rider app, you will see Uber charges more for X+, so they are definitely not paying for it themselves. Personally I would be prepared to pay 20% extra to not get a Nissan Micra and an experienced driver. Equally when I'm not in a hurry, I would always book an Uber pool.
The problem with Select is not only the low driver requirements as in 4.6 and 50 trips, some of the cars on the platform are anything but luxury. A 2009 Caprice isn't luxury, a VW Passat isn't luxury and neither is a Subaru Liberty.
I still say X+ will replace the current Select option, and Select will eventually become a real luxury option or will morph into Uber Black next year.
Ok just wait and see . Uber's whole idea of the Uberx car is to be economic, fast pick up . And that's the reason people use it in the first place . By paying extra 20 % and wait longer for pick up time defy this principle even though you get a better rated driver . But at the end it's only a ride you'll get there eventually. You'll be surprise the quality of the Subaru liberty . It has more or all the technology of some of the Benz and bmw . We all know by now Uber dose thing that make no sense . I think personally Uber should get get rid of any cars that's is too small like the Mazda 2 ect . Or make it Uber- its great for pax who are only travelling by themselves.
1. Pax that are over some drivers and are happy to pay a little more for a top rated driver with the assurance that the car is on the larger side of the FUberX scale.
2. Corporate customers that are not paying themselves. I'm pretty sure the invoice is listed as FUberX. The only tell tale sign for the person reconciling the expense claim is the higher per km rate, time and booking fee. Its still listed as FUberX on the invoice I believe. So its designed by FUber to be a little sneaky. Even on the driver app, it is listed as FUberX when looking at your payments, Drivers only know its X+ when they get the message from FUber about 30 seconds after accepting the ping.
Of course, PAX think its XL because it sounds so similiar to FUberXL and is located in the same spot in app as where XL used to be.
Stategically, its priced so that at base rates, its still less than a taxi.
Finally, I have had TWO pings from the airport when I am 20-25 in the queue recently, One was a long trip (no notification) and one was just a $15 trip. Never had this happen before X+ was introduced. Both pax where called and cancelled on by other drivers once the pax revealed the location. Not sure if FUber is using the top rated drivers to fix the airport scams, But by having X+ it might be easier than changing the whole dispatch system if FUber think a X+ driver is less likely to cancel. Both trips where NOT X+. So it might not be related, but this has only happened since X+ was an option.

Yes I Would say when A driver see an Uber + job . Its like see gold as most of the Uber x job are not Uber+ . They get 20% more obviously theyre less likely to cancel the job . But I think the high rated drivers are more likely to cancel job over the lower rated driver to protect their rating . Yesterday I had an Uber pool trip . The pax call me just right after I accepted the ping telling me where she is . Initially I wonder why she dose that . When I got to the pick point I couldn't find her . So i call her to see where she is , she can't tell me where she is and i told her where I am but she still can't find me , then she called again saying She has been cancelled by 2 drivers already . She said please don't cancell on her she just wanted to go home . I thought to myself I have to cancell this trip otherwise she'll put all the blame on and give me a bad rating and complain it Uber if I continue with her trips. so i cancelled trip .
In the another trip I drove past the pick up point for the pax , I couldn't see them as they were not there and there was no where I can even stop the cars . So I stopin the bus zone . I waited about a minutes in the bus zone then a the bus came and beep so I have to move. I was thinking to cancel again . the pax call so I agree to drive around again to pick them up . It's took me alot of effort to pick them up . After the trip I saw a report for bad pick up and a 2 stars rating from them . wtf I was being nice and doing them a favour to come back . I could have just canceled the trip and get the cancellation fees .
Doing both select and XL, I have to agree, I get more work doing XL... Though select itself is viable.
