I think it's Uber's polite way of telling him "We don't want you driving this weekend".
Had "network issues" from 8p.m until 1 a.m last night . Guess you were right....
I received it in the INBOX of both my Uber Taxi and UberX account.
Proof that they know demand will be low for the weekend.
I had a similar issue like you and they paid me am additional $8.50... so I guess reporting paid off
