UBER Surge

how does an UBER surge get calculated relative to time .

For example if there's a 1.5 x surge and the trip took 30 minutes . Assuming it costs 40 cents per minute for UBER X , would it be calculated as : .40 x 30 x 1.5=$18 ( for just the time component)

open up your last surge fare in your driver app, and you will see the breakdown which answers your question

I think it just multiplies the normal time/distance fare by X amount.

Eg. this is a 2x surge trip I had the other day. The surge and fare are equal.
