Uber Strike LA

We cant just seat and watch uber degrade drivers. Fair pay and protection is what people deserve. All passengers agree that Uber is much more superior to taxis in terms of cleanliness of the cars, nice drivers, faster and more reliable p/u and drop off. And taxis get three times the pay for the same miles driven. Uber should be able to rise the prices and they sure can afford to not cut the prices. SO I SAY STRIKE LA > GET SOME BALLS AND STRIKE. FOR BETTER WAGES BETTER TREATMENT. I think WE ALL CAN AFFORD NOT TO DRIVE FOR TWO, THREE DAYS> SHUT THEM DOWN PUT THEM ON THEIR KNEES.

Everyone's always yelling strike, but half of all Uber drivers barely speak English anymore and they're willing to work for nothing.

So yeah, good luck coordinating a strike with them.
You are correct. Just today had to call twice for uberx for my dad. Since it was my account I had to send a text for this guys to look for him. Guess what no response from ethier. My opinion NO ENGLISH. Btw no surge, 20 min each ride.Charge each 6.15. Take out 1.65 and 25% they ended up with 3.35 in 20 min of work WHo are these people. I mean seariusly who will work for 10 bucks an hour using thier gas and cars???????????/ Cant these people count. ANY WAY ANY BODY WILLING TO STRIKE IM WITH YOU GUYS JUST LET MEKNOW WHERE TO SHOW UP. WE HAVE TO SHOW THE GREED asses THAT WE ARE PEOPLE. AND IF GOV. does not want to stand up for us we have to

ANYBODY HO SPEAKS OTHER LANGUAGES PLEASE TRANSLATE To YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Lol those are the number for Los Angeles in that article.
Wrong. Taxi from santa monica to lAX is 35 bucks, UBer 12. Taxi from DT to lax 46. Uber 21. Should i continue????????????/And dont forget that half of Taxis get paid in cash that does not have to be reported and no taxes. Now on the other hand Uber pays taxes on every single penny. Also no tips for uber drivers and taxis 90% get tips

A strike will do nothing; drivers on UP make up what 5% at most of all drivers???? Even if we all didn't drive, there wouldn't even be a ripple.

If the people on strike are willing to break laws (trashing Uber cars, constantly faking pickups, bearing drivers that are working) then there might be an impact. What you are talking about is a waste of time.

it worked in sf. do you want me to post the videos?
SF RATES:
$2.00 BASE
$1.15 PER MILE
$0.22 PER MINUTE

LA has ZERO base fare. La/oc Are the only major cities with ZERO base fare. this must change. but have you read the postings of these drivers lately. they are all driving and meeting uber's quota.

Let's @@@@ing do it. We need a private FB group and/or forum, and a printed collateral (like some free business cards) that we hand out to every Uber driver we see at LAX or wherever, and tell them on a certain day to NOT @@@@ING DRIVE. And be serious about it. It's gotta be man to man, driver to driver, online and in-person. Otherwise it'll never happen.

Let's figure out how to make this happen. UBER RIDES SHOULD COST MORE THAN TAXIS!!!!!!!!!!

Check out this quote:

" Gumora says he first heard of the protests while hanging out at an airport parking lot for Uber and Lyft drivers. The word-of-mouth seemed to gain more traction offline rather than online—something Campbell says he noticed, too. “A lot of these strikes, I call them Facebook strikes because they keep trying to organize them online,” he says. “But as far as successful organizing happens, it’s usually at a more local and grassroots level.” "

first we need to be real here. it may be bad timing. with incentives i just can't see this happening. if more get on board cool, but i think drivers are too busy trying to meet uber's quota of 75 trips. uber has drivers by the balls right now.

You are exactly correct. Glad I haven't drove that much to become a zombie. But I think it would work and would raise the rates. I mean in the ends Uber also is making more profit.

Here is the thing, we all know that uber is trying to find the bottom rates for these "incentives", and it doesn't look like they have found it yet. How the hell is the non core NOT surging all the time? My guess, once August ends, we will be at the lowest the incentives will be at, thats when peeps will feel the pain. Until people feel the pain, they are not gonna strike. The problem with ubers incentives, no one likes a pay cut, and thats what it feels like as they keep lowering the incentives.

Like I've said before countless times, and I can't say it enough: Not only does it feel like a pay cut, but the fact that it happens without warning, and with no explanation, feels just as bad.

I've checked on some of the boards from the other cities. Obviously, across the country, everyone hates cesspool as much as we do. So, something that would make more sense to me, is if you start a thread in every city calling on everyone to join you. That would probably net you hundreds of drivers...which isn't much, but it's a start.

And that's one thing I don't understand either. One week for Platinum it's 2.2 then 1.9. And it's this much at this time and that much at another time!!! You gonna reward your driver's then do it with a flat rate all day all week. That's playing game and I'm not the one to be played as you can tell by the name. I rather take the surge.... Then you have these drivers with there fingers crossed every week now worried about getting that "magical" email... Hoping praying.... Hahaha... Silly wabbits.

i think we must go it for La/oc market alone. you are able to focus in on what you want and how to go about it.
i think someone has to start getting contact numbers little by little and when the time is right send a group text or something like that.
