to be honest, they need a product that's cheaper than Express pool to get a higher percentage of the bus crowd. Like perhaps only starts with 4 people matched or older model cars allowed?

All these promos are not helping anyone really whether it’s riders or drivers promos.
The are just burning $$$$ to maintain market relevance.

It doesn’t really expand the market in anyway, it’s just benefiting existing riders with short term discounts between apps.

We really need promos to get the pie bigger,

Right now I don’t see it happening

That’s absurd logic.

If all you can afford is the bus then that’s what you take. Tolerating a company that pays drivers this poorly (thus creating an obvious public safety issue) just to capture as big a market as possible with a model that has to be massively subsidized and is wholly unprofitable and unsustainable is literally insane.

Uber MUST be regulated in a manner consistent with standards in this industry. Period.

Public safety how? Just because you can afford something doesn't make it worth it. User growth is literally the strategy adopted by tech companies, growth before profit. It is not insane. Higher growth = higher stock value = happy investors = more money, that's what tech stocks are based on. Profit is secondary to growth.

i picked up an uber employee today !
these promos are in direct response to Ola's recent promos.

Ola had been very quiet for a few months
the new promos have (apparently) lead to a massive spike for them
we have all seen / felt this ! !

in addition to this, (again, apparently) there are a lot more new drivers V's drivers no longer driving and the patterns of part time drivers has also changed significantly

Alot of the part timers are now driving in the mornings rather than the evenings
They determine part time drivers as those who drive <15 hours a week.

In order to try and combat that they have been doing the weekend evenings bonus's for drivers
and as of last week started the 50% off for pasengers
That started with - your next 5 to this week where its 50% every ride for the entire week

its was a interesting chat

i replied with - ahhh mmmmmm ahhhh ok...

You know nothing about this industry and its history.
