Uber Provided Insurance Does not cover

Uber insurance does not pay for damage that occurs while online on the app but, not going to pickup another rider. Not sure why this is legal. Uber sells insurance to drivers with the promise to cover them accidents but, does not provide full coverage. This has to change. Drivers use their own cars, pay for gas, pay for insurance, pay for service and Uber cannot provide full coverage to drivers even though drivers pay extra for it. Sad, very sad.

Uber: a predatory company that cares nothing for drivers.
Otoh, having your own insurance is peace of mind beyond measure.

Make sure you have your insurance situation squared away (Rideshare endorsements and all) and don't depend on Uber for coverage.

When did uber say you are fully covered? They never said you were. Theyve always had the policy of what they cover and I guarantee you have an addendum on your account documents that spells out your insurance covers per your state laws.

But I bet youve never actually read your full contract, the addendum nor even know where it is do you? Lots of big words calling Uber illegal but youve never actually even read what youve agreed to...

Some insurance companies offer policies that are geared towards rideshare. They cover what Uber and lift do not. You need one of those policies. An insurance agent should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Uber provides absolutely no insurance in NYC. Why is that legal?
Because of TLC rules and regulations. Drivers provide all their own commercial insurance in NYC, and, subsequently, U/L don't keep a Booking Fee from them. They also get a minimum hourly rate guaranteed.
