    Hi Power Trip,
Partners like you have provided the Tampa Bay community with access to safe, reliable transportation for over a year. The Hillsborough County Public Transportation Commission, however, has continued with their effort to eliminate ridesharing as we know it and your opportunity to earn extra income providing this valuable service in the community.

We need your help to urge the PTC to adopt sensible, modern ridesharing legislation similar to the legislation adopted by more than 20 states and dozens of other counties and cities, like Tallahassee and Gainesville.

Join us at this Wednesday, September 9, to tell the PTC to stop their campaign against local entrepreneurs like you and support sensible regulations.

    MEETING DETAILS
    Time:
    Wednesday, September 9, at 8:30am
Location: County Commissioner’s Board Room | 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., 2nd Floor (meet us right before security)
Meet us: We will be on the second floor balcony wearing Uber t-shirts

Uber has presented the PTC with a set of rules that mirrors the modern ridesharing regulation that has been adopted across the country. If the PTC were to adopt these rule changes, this would be the solution for Uber and Hillsborough County to move forward. The ball is in the PTC’s court, so now is the time to make your voice heard.

Please also consider speaking at the hearing to tell the PTC about the valuable service you’re providing to the community and why it deserves a permanent place in Tampa Bay.

    Uber on,
    Team Uber Tampa Bay

  5. You would think uncle Travis would appear at this event if it was as important as power drip stated ? Power Drip why don't you place an ad on Craigslist for actors to simply stand in as "partners". Because at the end of the day it's simply acting.

  6. Why pay for hired actors from Craigslist when you can get uber losers to do it for free.

    Uber on.

This is where Uber rubs commissions the wrong way. Uber has presented the rules and now it is up to the PTC to accept these rules or be at the mercy of any political firestorm that Uber will create if anyone tries to amend the Uber's rules in any fashion. It's sad that we have gotten to a place where billion dollar corporations are the ones who are setting the regulations in this country.

    PowerTrip,

I would go & be prepared to speak. Request regulation. WHY?

    1. Houston implemented finger printing/FBI background check. Look what the following article said Uber missed in its background check that the FBI background check found.

    http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/transportation/article/How-Uber-driver-eluded-background-check-process-6186467.php?t=45907e13b3&cmpid=twitter-premium

    2. Regulation would give the city a fair idea of how many Uber drivers are working.
3, A permit in the window & badge/license from the city lets the customer know the driver has been through the city checks.
    4. Drivers who are truly serious about driving would pay the fees to be licensed. In other words regulations would weed out the not-so-serious drivers. (UBER says regulations hurt recruitment. Yep! College students & the underemployed would not apply.)
