Was talking to a childhood friend of mine that lives in Dominican Republic and He does Uber.

He sent me one pay day. He had to work 15 hours.... sound familiar? :rolleyes:

He has a 2011 corplla paid off.

That day is had to pay $1500 pesos only in gas

Exchange rate is $47 pesos for $1 is dollar.

That is truly a sad sight. So many hours for such little pay. But is that enough for a livable wage where he is?

Hah yeah when I go to Mexico (on vacation) the local cabbies want 200 Pesos for a 20 min ride and Uber wants 50 Pesos in a better car so it's a no brainer. I give a 100% cash tip (or more) and the driver is usually so shocked they become speechless. Win-Win. I saved some bucks, got a ride in a better car, and made someone's day.

Wow. How is the cost of living in DR? We can't complain about rates here when people are literally making 4 dollars an hour before expenses. Smh.
