Uber hasn’t killed the taxi industry after all

Depends on the city. There is still work out there for cabbies, they just have a smaller piece of the pie. The real hit they took was in the value of taxi medallions. In NYC for example, a medallion worth $1.2 million before UBER is now only worth about $50K. Drivers that planned to retire by selling those medallions, and companies and investors who held onto or mortgaged out medallions are hurting now.

Yellow cab filed bankruptcy in san Francisco. But. I see lots of taxi drivers just waiting, with 20 billion Uber drivers and 20 billion Lyft drivers, its like an entire packed rose bowl on every block!!
