trying to calculate uber fees

How is Uber calculating our pay and fees???
I had a trip that took 21:28 minutes and 19.9kms and in Edmonton we get $0.25 per minute and $0.85 per km.
Uber charged the rider $32.47. ($30.92+$1.55 gst, the gst is in the trip details).
So If we have $32.47-$1.55-($3.00+$0.30) that leave a fare of $27.62.
Uber takes 25% of 27.62 for $6.91leaving $20.71for the driver(me)
I should have gotten paid $20.71 + $1.04(gst)=$21.75, but I got paid $20.95 that included $1.55 in gst. So I got paid $19.40. So come year end I`m also going to have to pay all the gst and Uber isn`t collecting any by what they are doing. Anyone have any thoughts about this? am I doing something wrong?

Uber does not take 25%. You get the agreed base fare, distance, time, wait time, long pickup fee and tip. Uber gets the rest. Sometimes that us 15% sometimes it's 70%.

You'll have to see what uber is responsible for tax wise in your state. In Hawaii we must pay wholesale rate excise tax on the total fare minus ubers fees (essentially we pay on what we receive from uber) and retail excise on tips.

Uber pays full retail excise on the total rider fare.

if you have upfront pricing there is no calculating what they charge the pax. You calculate your fee by pickup time and km. The sooner you forget about the 25% the easier this will be. They have a deal and you have a deal. They are not connected in any way. If the arent collecting any other taxes they will have it broken out for you on your tax forms at tax time...good luck?

things are different in Canada than the states for uber drivers. I went down to the office and they couldn't`t explain how fees were calculated. I call the driver line and got 5 different people who couldn't explain it. In Edmonton, Alberta I was told at the office that uber takes 25% of the fare and there is a $3 booking fee and $0.30 rider fee. Does anyone know who I can contact to get confirmation on getting paid

Confirmation on getting paid?
Your bank will show the transaction.
Uber pays on Mondays, you will get a statement.
All statements show in your uber dashboard.
What you get paid is spelled out in the contract you agreed to. Read them all in your uber dashboard.

I think that covers all of your options unless someone else thinks of something.

confirmation on how much per trip we get paid. in Canada( Edmonton) we have flex pay. I don`t have any agreement between me and Uber in my dashboard on how much I get paid.

Under profile you agreed to contracts. I have a few specific to Hawaii and you might have some specific to your area but I guarantee you have contracts.

It should be broken down in the receipt for the ride. Got a Ss

Can you rename this thread? Put Canada in the title? Canadians might be better to answer this thread. I'm unfamiliar with tax laws in Canada. But what you get paid is spelled out in several places. You just need to find them.

this is under the Edmonton forum. what is in the trip details does not compute. I cannot figure out how they got my pay from that trip or any other trip. The Greenlight hub here in Edmonton cannot give me an answer to how they got that number and neither can anyone on the phone from Uber.

here is a trip I did. I am an uber x. 21:55 minutes = $5.48, 17.86km = $15.18, plus $3 booking, plus$0.30 rider fee, plus base fare of $2.75(It`s my understanding that base fare is used until the ride gets above $2.75, then just time and mileage), uber takes all of the booking fee and the rider fee. GST(5%) was $1.45 making the pax total fare $29.00. So $29-$1.45=$27.55, $27.55-$3.30=$24.25, $24.25x25%=$6.06, $24.25-$6.06=$18.19, $18.19+$1.45=$19.64. I got paid $19.43 on this trip. where did the $0.21 go???

if you add up the cost$2.75+$5.48+$15.18+$3+$0.30+$1.45=$28.16, but she was charged $29, so I`m just trying to figure out how uber got these numbers

I am certain that if you started before 2017 or say you started in 2016 they only take 20% ...Does not sound to fare to me,,,,but thats what they do.
