This weekends Guaranteed Over Crowding Promotion

As you can see from Uber map, this will be the area over crowded once again with those who don't know better.

Those who will try and play the minimum game will be quick to be sorted by Ubers software to make sure you are moved around the map to ensure payout kept to a minimum. If you do manage to do exactly what is required, and have fallen short for a top up, then expect additional games to avoid paying out every hour you deserve to be paid. Dont worry they will find a way if its there.

Here is what they promise but conveniently make you have to type the Promotion area yourself. All this for the supposed Ekka crowd. Ive been driving through the Ekka area last couple nights and most people where walking to car parks or train stations. Didnt see too many Ubers picking up. Weekend should be similar as the over saturation will level out possible rides. This is why they made the zone so small as to drag you back to the Ekka to avoid paying out guarantees. Good luck anyway.

FRI 18th
10pm - 12am $40/hour in fares
12am - 6am $35/hour in fares (Sat Morning)

SAT 19th

  • 60% of trips begin in High Demand Areas
  • 1 Trip/hour minimum
  • 80% of requests completed (Im guessing they are referring to no cancelled jobs? Who knows for sure with Uber)

now, i know how it works, im in.

plus it is staggered, like 10% of drivers got this promo and others got different, so not totally overcrowded.

Im sure it will pop up in more peoples apps by Friday. Might possibly have to do with how up to date your app is. That depends on how they designed the API.

Im certain they will display certain things to those based on each drivers behaviors with hours worked etc.

Let's envision how the promotion works:

1. You pick up a passenger in the 'High Demand Area' in the city
2. drive them out to a faraway area...
3. after drop off on the way back to the action you keep getting pinged from places out there (you must accept as you don't want to risk acceptance rate below 80%) so you get some short minimum crappy fair trips for the next hour dropping people from the local pub to their homes up the street...

oops realise you are not 'starting' trips in the 'High Demand Area'....turn off the app to get back to the action, but the promotion doesn't promote you for the time the app is turned off.
