50 an hour? Baloney...

I've had some great shifts that I was +/- $3 of $35 an hour gross on X, but it seems the longer you're on, the more the algorithm likes to screw with you, aka a trip to De Soto from Downtown just when you're hitting a top dollar stride.

Sounds like someone is trying to pump up the Uber valuation before their offering. Let me forward this thread to someone I know that works at the SEC.....

They work six 12 hour shifts per week, never complain, and are very compliant. And so they are rich.

Once in a blue moon, you may run into a long trip, or have a gun to rob your passengers or 7-11. Don't forget to have square to process the credit cards. Not many people carry cash nowadays. 600 is nothing. Piece of cake. You will be fine.

I’m not one of the ultra talented drivers that makes $600 per shift, i’m far from it. Uber just likes these drivers so much that they constantly send them from one surging area to the next. Or keep them in a surging area for the duration of the surge. Remember no matter where you are or what time of day it is there are requests going off all around you for trips going in all directions. Now what happens when you fully optimize all trips over the course of one shift according to price and direction? That’s what Uber does when they like you. They optimize your trips. When they don’t like you they send you far from a surge center moments before it hits which is generally the case with me despite my 4.97 rating and 5,400 trip count. I can’t really figure it out.

It's possible in a sense some guys may be treated differently because of personal relationships from inside people. A common practice in taxi industry especially for long trips that generally goes out of town. I have seen it personally when i drove taxi for 2 years before guber. Pass the good trips to their people and make 10-20% commission.

I am not guber's favorite either even after 15k+ trips. I don't give a damn about their rating crap. Didn't go online for the last 6 months.

Let's just do some calculations here:
Assuming Dallas is lit up +5$ the entire day for 12 hours and every ride you get is a sweet unicorn 20+ mile ride which you make minumum 20$. That ride obviously will take 25-30 minutes. Lets assume that minute you finish the ride you get another one....Soo u can do 2 25$ rides per hour giving you 50$, which in turn gives you 600$ in 12 hour period.
To sum it all up you have to manage two 20 mile plus trips back to back per hour, with minimum 10$ surge per hour. All that times 12....hahahah..

I think I'd rather waste my good luck at a casino.

Whoever is telling you they're making $600 in 12 hours, every day, in DFW, only doing UberX, is simply lying. $50/hr for a couple of hours after a huge event, sure. $50/hr for general anting around for 12 hours, I call BS. Bigly.

If it's inside job, then it may be possible. It's technology wise manipulation. If guber can manipulate surge and all other kind of crap, you think that it's impossible for them to do it? What you know, guber might actually behind it, in order to make future investors/ipo satisfied. There might be few selected people in every city. It could be a mini ponzi scheme inside a giant ponzi scheme. After all they are loosing billions. Who can detect few millions in a legal way which might be benefiting them or their group.
