The cake is that one and we are too many. I saw today a plate t729. Unfortunately with the famous 1000$ referral Uber was able to recruit thousand of drivers because most are Indians and Muslims with large family. But I don't blame only Uber because the main problem is the TLC that have to regulate the market. Look what happened in Europe were Uber wasn't able to penetrate and take all the cake. There the have strict regulations and when you touch their bread they get on the street and fight.

Go to De blaazo s Facebook page and write him a love letter. You can blame it all the blame on him and his weak adminstration. He even has the auducity to ask for money for re-election.

Exactly... I'm tired of hearing people like the guy above pointing fingers at other people for trying to have work in an overall crap job market. "It's your fault, newbie, for not wanting to work at Burger King". People can be so myopic

De Blasio and his administration is one of the problem but we don't have to forget the media that are the worse . In the evening often the most important news are ridiculous like the owner that lost the dog or the millionaire that moved from Westchester to the city to spent his retirement. With all the important things that happen in New York everyday that choose the stupidest. In this period they are talking about the traffic without investigating that one of the real problem are us. We are in every corner, every street and even when I open the door of my bathroom in the morning I find an Uber. They should introduce what I call turnover: every 100 people that quit you add just 1 more. But like many old New Yorkers told me the problem is that the city use to be very helpful and socialist but now it's all about money.

Well newbie that's exactly the issue. Enough of you join and you will make more money flipping burgers. An industry where people bought houses and put kids through school is now barely above minimum wage. No I do not use apps anymore what so ever. You "drivers" just create traffic and accidents at this point. Enjoy record low earnings

If you freaking care so much about those people who bought houses and put kids through school, why the heck don't you help organize them. That's what long shoremen did. They stood up and protected each other. But no, you're echoing Trump's America where everyone wants to point fingers at other working people struggling so that you can have clean hands and not have lift any of those fingers to help change the situation

FYI, by the way, in case you haven't noticed (despite an entire housing crisis) there are almost no more industries left out there for people to buy houses and put their kids through school. That's where the system is at right about now because we have been trained, like good worker monkies, to worship our wealthy masters while blaming everything on other working-class folks. The problem is much deeper than the small and counterproductive point of view of "ragjng at newbies" for all your problems.

Do you really believe raging at newbies will fix anything?. New drivers are just going to listen to you? Really?!

In all honesty thats my rule though. Anyone who is aggressive out there i let em go. Even if they are in the wrong. You cant be in this business and have an ego. Yes most drivers are *******s, but since we know that and are consider professional drivers then its my duty to be as defensive as possible. Doesnt pay to have an accident in the end.

    Completely Wrong!!
DeBlasio actually wanted to the cap the #of Fuber cars in early 2016 but all the Fuber drivers started crying & rallying against his Idea to cap Fuber!
So there ya go ...Driver can literally have their cake and eat it too ....Fuber On...

Does anyone know of any drivers that actually protested though? most of the protestors were Uber employees, friends of the employees, and maybe a few drivers that Uber paid off... I can't think of any justifiable reason a driver took off a day of working to say "hey... why don't you allow more competition for me!"

The unconfirmable rumor is uber make a undisclosed amount towards the mayrol campayne fund. and by allowing additional 10,000 (i am pretty sure is more) cars on the street is destroying former mayor's plan on adding 2000 medellian and the expansion of 18000 green taxi .

It's not destroying the former mayors plan at all. Bloombergs plan was to throw the kitchen sink at the taxi industry from more medallions to green taxis to Uber... Bloomberg is even an investor in Lyft(confirmed)and I believe Uber as well(hedge his bets?). Before he left the office he made headlines for saying he was going to destroy the taxi industry.
