I drove tonight for the first time downtown. Surge disappeared at 7pm (start at 4:45). Not sure if that is normal, but I found it odd. Drove for 3 hours and netted 40 bucks. Got lucky and scored a ride back to the burbs to salvage the night. I am on a 40 trip guarantee this weekend, so I hope I make it. Otherwise, this does not seem worth it.

It's not worth it, sorry.

I'll be sitting out until the middle of August when all the seasonal folks go back to work and school...until then, it's just not worth it

Surge was decent yesterday - but not at night. Early afternoon caught a 1.7 select surge to Ord for $75. Then a 2.6 select from Wrigley after the game down to Old Town for $40+. Cracked $300 for the day for the first time in quite a while.

I think I would like the 40 trips, might even consider pool to get it over with faster.

Yesterday was crappy. I had like five boosted fares while I spent 5/8 hours stuck in the suburbs. It was hard to stay at $17-18 per hour. With the boosts from yesterday I could have easily made $130 in four, maybe five hours.

By the time I got a fare downtown, I was really fed up and did not want to take a chance of being sent to Oak Brook or Bensenville again, or even worse, past Evanston. Just upset that the day could have brought more money.

Beginners luck I guess for me. All my trips last night was on a boost except my first one ORD pick up( i always start in Schaumburg). And I had no pools until I started thinking about it lol. It was 2:30am and it sent me to Roscoe Village, I called it a night. Was $9 bucks short to make $150 in 5 hours online.

The 10/20/40 ride guarantee is given to new drivers essentially until they hit the 50 ride mark... then you get switched over to the the more standard promotions... (though I thought I have seen on this forum a few experienced drivers who say they had this).

But being before 50 lifetime rides also means that you don't get pools yet, so it's a bit harder to hit. My first weekend with this promo, I only got to 21 rides in 12 hours on Fri/Sat in late June... I didn't think I'd be able to get the other 20 on Sunday...

Damn man that's a very solid night. You probably drove a small amount too. I'll definitely be giving boost a try tonight and be added to the already flooded boost section on the map lol.

Nope your wrong on that 10/20/40 ride thing I've got 5,509 rides in but I stopped uber in February to transition over to lyft and about a month ago I started getting them too

whitout pool you can also make 40 trips easy , i refuse all pools last night and made 23 trips in 8 hours ( around 30% xl) but i dont have the great promotion , only boost

It was much more reasonable than the last Wednesday night where i put up over 250 miles, but I was chasing the 20 trips promotion. Friday night felt so much lighter for both myself and my car that my miles added "only" up to 150.

$340 Saturday. 0 miles on my personal car. Worked about 12 hours. I actually felt bad seeing all these poor uber drivers chasing minimum fares and abusing their own cars.

Traffic was brutal last nite in downtown area.

Leaving the casino and checked the surge, 2.1x. What the heck, I'll give Uber one last ride... LOL. I think I found out where you guys can hide the next time gUBER sends some guarantees your way! Sat 10 minutes with no ping. I should have known it was a fake surge....
