We all like to complain about uber and anything else that irks us but where can you get a job that you can get up early, go out and drive for 3 or 4 hours, come back home, take a nap, make love to the wife and then go back out in the evening and drive for another 3 or 4 hours, and make a hundred bucks.

How the hell do you make $100 driving 3 or 4 hours, especially after expenses?
Please let us know where and when do you drive?

I was glad for the job in the beginning, but the constant screwing with the pay structure is a complete downer. Then this past month on a daily basis having to fight with of all things, an app, I repeat, AN APP, where their driver support gave no real solution to the problem, until 2 days ago, when android updated my phone, and now it works as before. So basically Uber support was no help at all. I used to talk up the company before with pax, not anymore. When they ask me if they should do it, I tell them the truth. The actual driving and mingling with people, excellent. The pay? Not worth it. Most tell me that's also what they hear, too.

Well you can blame uber for everything but your cell, unfortunately phones break, die and needed to be updated. And sometimes you gotta buy a new one

Well you could work for walmart, earn 8$ and hour and take out 20 to 30 percent for taxes, have some kid tell you what to do, when you can eat and shit and when you can leave for the same you make at uber. I'd rather drive my car

Mr. Becker working at walmart the tax rate would be closer to 15% and good luck on your $100/3hrs driving goals

Classic example I said 20 to 30 percent and he says no its closer to 15. When you add in social security, unemployment taxes your closer to my number than yours I said im driving 6 to 8 hours for the day and he only sees 3 to 4.

God what the heck is the matter with you. Just the fact that you're using your car, which is depreciating every mile you drive is worth at least $.25 a mile, than gas and wear and tear. Earning $8 an hour is not even break even.
Although you'd be making less per hour, it's way more profitable to collect cans for recycling.

My wife stopped making love to me when she saw my Uber pay checks.

Wife snubbing you?! How sad! Do 20 more Uber rides and call an escort. Just make sure she is "fetish friendly". My last ride just now was an escort... talk about an awful job.

I'm clearing 1200/week after ALL expenses and kind of get a free company car out of it.

Not giving all the details or proof. You're all my competition though I drive 70-90 hours (including car naps) to get this bank.

I will hint that you must use ALL tools at your disposal as possible including many great tips here. Long rides, manipulating the surges, pax tips (cash and square swipe), strip car kickbacks, cleaning fees, cancellation fees, and knowing when to cancel and how to get pax to your car fast (and out fast) are all vital to the equation. Using the right GPS combined with city knowledge to get around traffic also vital.

Knowing where and when surges happen and to anticipate it is also vital.

Oh and avoid SOHO fri and sat nites like the plague. 80% of them are local so no surge is going to make you any real money for most pax.

then there is the Sarasota secret....old rates of .95/mile yet surges like crazy at the right times and for hours with decent to long trips. Why I don't just base myself there I don't know. It's well worth the dead head miles there and back. Problem is it is more profitable but the PAX are trash. Way worse than the Tampa Bay Area on average. Maybe it's just ethnocentrism on my part.
