Uber fears to mass deactivation with a new law,now they increased referral bonuses from 400 to 500 they want to make sure they have enough drivers.

Driving with an expired sticker. Sorry but you don't deserve to drive a car for a living if you can't get an inspection and keep a safe mechanically sound vehicle on the road legally. What would be your next pesky inconvenience to impede your ability to drive???? A lapsed insurance policy.

JFK - take few hrs off and visit his library in southie!

In his inaugural address, Reagan intimated that government is not the solution, it is the problem

Thanks for the history I am truly embarrassed, that I mixed the presidents up, you have thought me valuable lesson. I will never post something here without googling it first I am glad I didn't quote that to a pax or those yuppies would have had a field day with me. I have come to appreciate this forum as a learning tool and will be keeping my future posts limited. Thanks again, and have a fruitful and blessed life.

My only issue is if you deactivate a driver who is full time that is taking away their paycheck. If the state is going to do this they should offer some form of unemployment assistance. I know we are not employees, but this background check is state mandated and putting people out of work without any compensation while they find other work is really not right.

This is a great point. The main issue is that Government has no foresight and what has happened was entirely predictable. The background checks should have been conducted over a certain time period not in a way where some drivers are being suspended or being deactivated because the process is flawed in a major way.

The sharing economy is a *****. You don't make life plans with a *****. At any given point these companies can change their rates, policies and etc. This is why you don't make life plans based on the sharing economy. You have no rights or recourse. That's something these people should have been aware of but are finding out the hard way. I don't feel too bad for them. Adecco and Randstad has 1000's of jobs. They can have you working by next week provided you aren't a felon. I'm sure 2500HD is always looking for a few good laborers to shovel sidewalks. Plenty of ways for these guys to get by in the meantime.
