Innisfil, Ontario, decided to partially subsidize ride-hailing trips rather than pay for a public bus system. It worked so well that now they have to raise fares and cap rides.
"According to an Uber spokesperson, the ride-hailing company also advised the city to implement the cap as a way to control costs."
Uber - Hey Innisfil, you don't need public transportation, we have something better and cheaper...
Ah, you like this? Wait until the IPO when it's gonna end up costing you more than public transportation and where drivers make less and people pay more or will need to be capped. What's that? You don't have a choice now? Muahahahahahahaha
