SAN DIEGO — A 16-year-old male was arrested for firing several gunshots at an Uber driver in southeastern San Diego on Saturday night, police said.

The shots, which were allegedly fired in anger over social media posts, shattered some of the car windows but didn't injure anyone, a San Diego Police Department news release said.

The suspect unintentionally left his cell phone in the Uber vehicle while being dropped off in Valencia Park. The Uber driver agreed to bring him the phone after dropping off a subsequent customer, but police said the driver and that customer discovered the suspect had been "talking bad" about the Uber driver on his phone and began posting about that on social media.

When the Uber driver returned the phone about 10:30 p.m., the suspect argued with him about the social media posts and then fired shots as the Uber driver pulled away, the release said.

The suspect was initially picked up by the Uber driver in Mission Beach along with an 18-year-old male.

More Detailed Version Of How did it happened .
"The 16-year-old boy realized he left his phone in the driver’s car, and the driver agreed to bring the boy’s phone back to him once he had taken care of his present fare.

“The (present) fare went through the phone and saw he was talking bad about the Uber driver, so they began posting things on social media,” he said. “The Uber driver returned the phone and the 16-year-old got into an argument with the driver because of the posts.”

The driver drove away, Heims said, and the 16-year-old boy fired several shots at the vehicle, shattering some of the windows. The 16-year-old was arrested a short time later.

Nice neighborhood, I took a hooker from Anaheim to the same part of town. Give me North Long Beach or South Central any day.
