Yes, you have read the headline right.

In Clayton County Georgia, a 21 year old Ellenwood man who was accused of holding up a sporting goods store was arrested on Tuesday, the 16th of April 2019, while waiting for an Uber. Officers spotted the individual dressed in all black, had just flagged down the rideshare driver when police noticed him. Officers recovered, $900 and a firearm.
Suspect of course has been charged with one count of armed robbery, aggravated assault, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and theft by receiving of stolen property. (Likely the gun was stolen.)

He is in jail without bond. Hopefully the driver got his cancellation fee.

Apparently he had summoned the driver on the app and saw him approaching and was waving at him when the cops saw him. I have not seen anything else in the news about him, but in Clayton County, they do NOT play. He will be in jail for a considerable period of time, unlike Fulton County Georgia which has one of the worst criminal justice systems in the state.

"We are sorry to hear that the rider robbed a store and was unable to complete this recent trip. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We will be reaching out to the rider to further investigate this matter. If he makes bail or serves his sentence, he may need a ride home or to his next robbery and Uber will be there to support him. Partners like you make it possible to provide this service to our community.

We understand that some riders may be dangerous criminals and a threat to the safety of the community. We appreciate your professionalism and patience to handle challenging situations like this one.

Thank you."
