That patent is never in effect. A driver for U/L isn't "sharing" their vehicle, they are hiring their vehicle out. I accepted my first Uber fare in 2012 and not once did I ever know where I was going to drive to before I turned on the app. The only aspect of rideshare that even comes close to that patent description is when a driver uses the destination filter.


It is. I use U/L as a way to share my ride when Im using it. Not like a taxi and full time job. I have the right to refuse service.
