were you out of state? i notice the other day the icon did not appear while i tried to use the feature coming back to CT from Mass. As soon as i crossed the state line it appeared again. of course the feature didn't give me a ride. so far its hasn't worked for me

Can anyone help me with this. I do not see the icon on the top left on the uber partner app.
You need to hit the little icon on the top left, bringing you to the option to set a destination.
Hint, I have used this feature several times so far and it has not gotten me one ride in my direction.
I think its there to make us feel better about deadheading home from a long trip. The POSSIBILITY of another rider taking us back to where we want to go. Its a beautiful idea. I just havent seen it work yet

I've had it "work" couple of times. Nice thing is that it shows you a map of pickup and destination when the ping pops up so you can see if short or long. But it's not looking for a ride TO your destination, just something along the way so if you're crusing home on the highway let's say from greenwich to norwalk you could get a ping that takes you off the highway in stamford going for a mile as long as it's in your direction. I'm not getting off the highway on my way home to pick up someone going a mile down the street. Pretty useless so far in my experience.

That's exactly what happened to me. I got it to work once. Driving back home from Greenwich. I got a ping, got off highway and found the riders apt building. All they wanted was a 10 min ride to a grocery store. The road we traveled on ran parallel to the highway. Dropped her off and got back on Highway. So technically I did pick up a rider going in my direction, but it was hardly worth it and just made my trip back home a little longer for like an extra $6

I was thinking it might work well with casino traffic. Those people are going to and from everywhere. So you could set the destination to the casinos, wait for a ride, and once you are there set the destination back home for another ride, and there's a day's pay in 2 rides.

Maybe I haven't been as lucky at the casinos, or because I'm very part-time...but the only time I've ever really killed it there is on NYE. I drive that area more than anywhere else (as I live in New London County) and the most rides around casinos have been employees.

Did have an interesting one a few months back...the night of an MMA event at Mohegan I picked up a dude at Backus and brought him back to Mohegan...he was in the ER after getting beaten up pretty good.

Honestly I don't know why anyone would take an uber to casino. Plenty of deals with bus companies and you usually get a free buffet coupon

Big problem with feature is you most likely will get a short ride in your direction. Unlikely to get a ride to your destination.
