OK, I know that CSR's don't really read e-mails, but this is hurting Uber's profit, and reputation with riders. I am posting the e-mail I sent the Charlotte office, and their reply.

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for writing in. Happy to help with this.

Uber highly values the feedback of its partners and we take what you're saying very seriously. As a growing company, we are constantly seeking ways to better enhance the Uber experience from both drivers' and riders' perspectives.

Also, referring another driver is easy and a great way to make some extra money. You can refer friends by pressing the blue button on the bottom of the offline screen in the Uber Partner App, or by logging into your account athttp://partners.uber.com and clicking on "Driver Referrals" in the black column on the left-hand side. Just enter their name and email or phone number and you'll be ready to go.

If for any reason you do not see this blue button, just double-tap the home button and force quit the app, and then re-open it.

Referral incentives are automatically added to the miscellaneous payment section of your invoice once your friend completes the required number of trips.

We appreciate your thoughtfulness and taking the time to write to us. We will evaluate your feedback internally.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Have a great day.

    Best,

    Sheila

I turned on my app yesterday on my way to Charlotte from Gastonia, and got a ping in the Gastonia area, near the PSNC office. The rider told me she liked using Uber, but it is hard to get a ride from Gastonia. A few of the bartenders in Belmont and Gastonia have told me the same thing, their customers can get an Uber from Charlotte, but have trouble getting a ride back.
Can Uber promote the Gaston county area we serve like they are the Huntersville and Concord area? We need to build a driver base in this area. I have been handing out the rider cards with my code on them to local bars, and I will be leaving some at the Hotel front desks.

I left the names in because #1 I use my real name on here, I have nothing to hide, and #2 the CSR used a first name only.

They send text messages daily trying to cover Davidson, and Cornelius, but i had to find out by accident that riders can request a ride in Gastonia. Like it or not, the Gastonia area is growing, and we need to be available to serve riders there. If we don't someone else will.

I know real funny :p. It was foolish of me to think that an email sent to our local office would actually be read. I wonder what thehappytypist would make of this.

    Hey Dan DixonDan Dixon!

May I suggest that you actually start signing up New Drivers in Gastonia area. It might as well be you who makes the referral cheese.

PS: Uber really doesn't value you or your constructive feedback...

I realize that, I just like to throw a spotlight on things like this. I live in Gastonia, but work my full time job in Charlotte. I know we have other drivers who live in the Gastonia area, I was trying to get our local office to send out alerts about that area, they way they are constantly sending alerts about Davidson, and Concord. The problem here is that many people in Charlotte want to pretend that nothing exists west of the Catawba river.

Interesting report, their figures are old though. I think Uber is valued at close to 50 billion now. I knew what I was getting into when I signed up, and I am doing this part time. As I told Chi1cabby, I am just throwing a spotlight on poor service, and they did make the mistake of asking me to review the CSR interaction, so I gave them my honest opinion. Lets face it we know thehappytypist is in the minority as far as CSRs are concerned.

It's an older video, the only thing that has changed is the valuation.

  9. Great video. Thanks for posting. I'm quitting Uber. Too risky. I deleted the app from my phone.

If I stop driving completely, I will be deactivated within 30 days, correct?

You can purchase Rideshare Insurance in Illinois. And I believe TNCs are required to provide 'App On' Primary Liability Insurance beginning 1/1/16.

Gaston County is a big suck. I know the former owner of Gastonia Yellow Cab. Read the city regs, no solicitation, companies have to stay in their private depot, pretty sure they don't have cabstands.
They hate cabs. Uber won't fare well either.
I get some great rides out of Gastonia, since I advertise and the local companies are so far up their own ass.
Gaston refuses to enter the 20th century, let alone the 21st.

She should be the official #UberSTRIKE spokesperson.

I would pay for her to make a new video to include the SRF gimmick and encourage a nationwide strike.
