race to the bottom.. only problem is Uber is racing its self. I honestly think they are simply testing the waters to see how cheap drivers will go. Thus far, they have not found that bottom.

UBER: A social Experiment gone BAD... on the quest of hurting all its partner-drivers worldwide; one driver at a time!
There was a time when the consensus was: shame on UBER for continuing to lower the rates, now it got to the point that it's Shame on the Drivers for continuing to drive at these rates.

Uber was always a p/t temp gig for me. But the experience left me always wondering wtf ubers mindset or reasoning for sticking it to their drivers. As for "lower fare = more $$" was just mind bending. And my guess and I'm only guessing is that they want to make the uber x experience so miserable for riders due to pissed off drivers. That riders will begin using uber black or select in order to avoid the X factor . But that idea is so lame I calling BS on myself.
Bottom line, the only thing worse than an uber exec is a pedophile and that's debatable .

For those keeping score at home, you just took a better than 10% pay cut.

I don't see how this increases money in the drivers' pockets. Demand isn't the problem here. This isn't going to suddenly draw thousands that weren't Ubering before. Most of the riders won't even realize it.

Hmm.... 10% off the gross = how much off the net profit?

Let's say your per mile cost is $0.32
And lets say you do one dead mile per paid mile.

    Old rate:
    $1.05- 20% = $0.84 gross profit
    Less cost of paid miles $0.84 - $0.32 = $0.52
    Less cost of dead miles $0.52 - $0.32 = $0.20 Net profit

    New rate:
    $0.90 - 20% = $0.72 gross profit
    Less cost of paid miles $0.72 - $0.32 = $0.40
    Less cost of dead miles $0.40 - $0.32 = $0.08 Net profit

    $0.20 = 100%
    $0.08 = ?
    (0.08 x 100)/0.20 = 40%

    100% - 40% = 60%

That's a 60% cut in your NET PROFIT!

You cost per miles are different?
Your dead to paid miles ratios are better?
Great, give me the numbers and I will calculate your Net profit cut for you.
It might not be a 60% cut but I promise you it will be much much higher then 10%

Remember any cut in fares comes directly out of your Net Profit.
Your cost stays the same, so it's all off the Net Profit
    Open your eyes people.
These bastard millionaires will become billionaires soon
just because you can't see reality or you just refuse to see it

Make it up in more rides BS?
Let's say your situation is a little better and your Net Profit hit is only 50%
That means in order to make the same Net Profit as before the cut
you now need to double the number of rides!
    Think about it!
Double the rides just to make the same Net profit as before.

    ;)

Not enough time in a hour to double the number of rides. Plus your expenses double to. Welcome to uber. How may we f@$k you today?

How did you find out about this before it happened? I usually hear about these when I try to log onto the app. Do you know if any other AZ markets will be affected?

Well I didn't receive an email but I didn't get one before my last rate cut in jan. I guess I'll find out at 2pm for sure....

The pax never realize a difference with these rate cuts. But they do realize the bigger surges it causes.
