What the hell is going on with pool requests not surging??? I missed 7.8x surge because I kept getting pool requests which were not surging at all. Then I keep getting kicked off for not accepting that bullshit. What the @@@@ is going on man????This has been happening since Monday.

It's a bunch of B.S. to keep cheap-arse pool pax happy.

Something else I found out today, if you say they have two passengers at the pickup instead of just one, the fare quote on the pax app changes. Of course the fare at the end is the same regardless, but good luck explaining that to pax who give no poops about anything but CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. Ride takes forever, no problem. Got matched up with smelly dude who barely speaks English, no problem. Ride costs $5.10 instead of $4.50, oh we're gonna fight!

Don't you get paid 7.8x for .85/.11 for pool rate unless something changed? I checked the pax app and the rates for pool remained the same while X was surging out of control.

Has anyone heard an official statement from uber about this? If this is the new shit how the @@@@ do I stop hem from giving me pool requests. This is enough to make me quit.

In the past I would get non-surge pool requests while I was sitting in the middle of a surging area, but this was usually because the pool requests were coming from places outside the surge zone. If a pax requested a pool pickup anywhere within the surge zone, the applicable surge rate got applied to the fare. This week that all changed, and like many others are reporting, I'm getting lots of non-surge pool requests coming from locations within the area that is surging on UberX. Not just a few of these... a lot of them. So many, in fact, that my acceptance rate for the week has been hovering right around the 30% mark

this is a lawsuit ready to happen. we are supposedly ic's and uber is forcing us to accept a pay cut. everytime we accept a uber pool trip we are accepting a pay cut. uber x $0.90 a mile $0.15 a minute. uber pool $0.85 a mile $0.11 a minute.
if you do not accept the pay cut uber will flag you and force you offline for a period of time.
uber must stop sending uberx drivers uber pool requests. we should be given the flexibility to opt in to uber pool only if we choose to accept the decrease in pay.
uber pool pay is significantly lower and therefore it is unethical to force and bully your divers into accepting a lesser fare. uber must stop their control over their drivers and treat drivers as true ic's.

Something weird is going on for sure. I took an Uber 3 times yesterday. From my house on the Hollywood side of the hills to a transmission shop in North Hollywood, back home and then back to the shop again. I took a pool to the shop, was $7.62, trip home was $7 but the trip back to the shop was $18. I checked the driver app and it wasn't showing a surge at all. I waited a few minutes still no surge but the $18 price was still there. Don't know what that means but not the way I understood Uber Pool to work. And before I get a bunch of hate posts, I tipped the guys $5 cash each trip which was the difference between pool and X. That way they didn't have to pay the 25%.

i'm surprised that there is no bigger out cry. but not surprised knowing drivers in La. La drivers are so caught up with incentives that they are not aware of the fact that incentives are only temporary and in the end we're going to lose surge. uber doesn't pay to lose. believe that. uber is trying to phase out surge and get riders accustomed to uber pool. drivers are also getting accustomed to accepting uber pool. you're making all this money now but i guarantee in the long run you will get ubered.

Nothing. I finally got some csr idiot to respond and he gave me a canned answer about how pools surge in tandem with X. Of course when I clarified the issue, again, I got radio silence.

I'm guessing most drivers don't even realize what is different now. That will change the minute incentives end and more people go back to working surge.

Hi ---,

Thanks for writing in , happy to help.
Sorry for the confusion and trouble here! We have a known issues with our heatmaps where the surge reflected isn't accurately reflecting the surge that riders are accepting. The amount you were paid is accurate based on the time and demand of the trip.

I understand that knowing about surge is important to you and your earnings, and you depend on the heatmaps and surge multipliers to get the most from your time driving.

Our team is working to resolve this issue as quickly as we can - so please keep checking your app.

Keep in mind that surge is constantly shifting differently throughout the city, and changes in realtime depending on the demand in particular areas. Because of that, the amount can change minute to minute and will be based on the time of the trip request. We’ll do our best to make you aware of when and where surge is likely to be happening, but we can never predict it 100%.

Regards,

Total BS. The problem is not with the heatmaps. UberX requests are coming through that accurately reflect the surge levels shown on the map. The problem is that pools are not showing any surge at all.

the shifting every minute is also a problem. why chase surge if there will be no surge by the time you get there.
uber does this to trick you into going online. uber doesn't want a surge map, they want a heat map. they are using the heat map to get you online and get you where they want your car and then send you base rate requests.

Buck Poo rides. Now they taking surge away just because of poo rides. BS. If I wanted to pick up people and make multiple stops to fill my car to capacity plus luggage sometimes I would have worked for Metro.
