Pool pax are getting slightly smarter too. They wait for Surge to disappear before ordering now. I guess they now realize the enormous discount is not so great and need to keep the ride as cheap as possible.
UberPool Passengers are quoted a price for their trip that is anywhere from 10%-50% off (usually about 20%) The discount is based on the likelyhood of another passenger getting matched. This price is what they pay: it doesn't matter if you get stuck in traffic or don't get matched with another passenger. They will pay this price not a cent more or less.
On an UberPOOL ride that is unmatched, you are paid as if it were a normal ride, you might even be paid more than the passenger pays. Uber takes the loss (or more likely, breaks even after the 20% fee they take from you)
Soon uberpool will like a school bus lol... That's stupid thing for drivers, you will get like $1.00 from second request more than from 1, I always cancel for second riders request, normally I drive for x1.5 and up. It's take from drivers 40% of amount if you have 2 requests and - $1+$1=$2, so if total amount $20, minus 40% - $2= $10.80
