How does an Uber driver Opt Out of accepting Uber Pool ride requests in the Trip Preferences section in which Trip Types lists the driver as being available for both UberX/Uber Pool? Both are linked on the same line and you can’t do one without having to do the other ride acceptances.

If the driver only wishes to fulfill UberX and possibly Uber Eats, how can the Uber Pool availability be removed?

I created this as a new thread as I guessed that there would be great interest and possibly variying solutions, if this is at all possible. Plus I saw no other category where this inquiry would qualify.

AFAIK, Uber Pool is considered part of UberX, so you'd have to not be accepting UberX to not get Uber Pool (there is no Uber Pool where I drive, so don't go only by what I say).

Thank you PS. I was curious as a result of watching a video addressing Uber Express Pool. The video expressed concern that drivers may be unknowingly hooked into the currently unfavorable Uber Express Pool without knowing it just by accepting a Pool request. Leaving a rider short of their intended destination appears to be a deadly mix for driver ratings. I guess we will have to see. I am in favor of early warnings and choice myself. Luckily, you don’t have to deal with this issue. May your future days be enjoyable, safe and profitable.

I'm pretty certain you're right and that x/pool are in the same class when it comes to opting in/out in the app. AFAIK you can see on the ping if it's pool ir not, so you can 'opt out' by not accepting them.

Miss out on too many, especially if you are the closest vehicle, and your inbox will be filled with Nastygrams and your acceptance rate will suffer. That could lead to future transgressions down the road that may not be pretty. If you let a Pool go by and accept an X, Big Brother Uber is watching.

One solution is to buy an XL vehicle... no pool in XL

before we had the preferences tabs we had to email support at night so we got the Indian support staff, not the US based staff. Essentially we would word is like, "I would like to create separate vehicle profiles that accept different trip requests for my SUV as follows:

    CJxxxxx-SUV, Black
    CJxxxxx_SEL-SUV, Black, Select
    CJxxxxx_XL-SUV, Black Select, XL"

you have to be as concise as possible. and on the passenger app it would show our license plate as above. other variations would your plate # with +s or -s on the outside. so you could try emailing them and seeing if they will create separate vehicle profiles that disable pool and and express pool

Great idea, if you have it that way, but, in reality, UberX pays the bills! Pool and Express Pool are the alternatives with Uber Eats taking a healthy position.

I am not advising it... I am sharing that it is an option. Please don't be so stupid as to assume.

Well, I sure don’t want to get a nasty gram. I don’t know how I would cope.
