Be careful and attentive to the heat map when picking up PAX especially with the DNC demand.. Picked up a passenger in a 4.9 surge area.. Area was surging for 20 minutes prior and my driver app showed me dead set in the middle with several miles either way. Accept the fare, head into center city and far resulted in $22... Happened on 2 separate occasions today and Ubera response is it was a glitch with their real time heat map.. BS!

Screen shot the request prior to accepting as record especially on high surge amounts.

Last night I was wondering why the old version of the passenger app I still have installed was showing XL, Black and Suv all showing 4.9x surge for over 45 minutes when X was under 3x. That is a bunch of BS. I'm glad I wasn't out last night. I would be ticked. You're expecting a homerun only to get stale peanuts.

Pulchra i did and sent it to them they apologied and said they are aware off issues with the heat map.:
I have had issues in the past with fares. They have all been resolved with the appropriate payment but it took more than one request to get paid. Be persistent and you will get the money your are owed.

This is not new. Very often the pax surge rate is different from the heat map. In fact, I've picked up pax on surge where the heat map showed no surge. You need to observe the ping itself. If a surge is in effect for the ride, it will be displayed in lower right hand corner of the ping.

Perhaps the new (here) surge grid map might explain some of these issues. Notice that surge maybe different as little as a block away. You have to zoom in a lot to be able to magnify enough to see the details.
