Here's a case of where you don't want your brand mentioned in the news ... so far, no local blowback for Uber on this but ... dang, this is ugly.

"Man accused of raping 13-year-old boy

By Yolanda Jones of The Commercial Appeal

A 40-year-old man is in jail after he was accused of raping a teen boy.

(name redacted) has been charged with six counts of aggravated rape.

Police said on Monday they received information about a 13-year-old boy who ran away from home. Detectives located the boy at a Memphis home from a post on his Facebook page.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim showed detectives text messages between him and the suspect. Some of the texts were sexual in nature, including pictures.

Police said the suspect sent Uber to pick up the victim and bring him to his home. The victim told police he was raped multiple times by the suspect and another man he called “Bear," according to an affidavit.

(STUPID perp) was arrested and taken to 201 Poplar where he told police he did have sex with the victim several times, according to an affidavit. No one else has been arrested.

(perp) will be in court Wednesday.

So, what self-respecting Uber driver would pick up an unaccompanied THIRTEEN year old boy and just drop him off at his rapist's home? Thirteen? Come on people, we need to think out there.
