Lol these damn fools are in serious desperation mode. Scrambling to release new types of gig services to mask up the shit storm they created with drivers pay, background checks, assaults on victims and the nose diving stock. Let's see we got uber x, uber freight, uber copter, uber work, uber app that does everything, uber slave ultra coming next week.

As long as there are Low & No Skill workers, Exploitation will continue and proliferate worldwide. Don't expect government protection.

It Takes work, discipline and ambition ? Get educated, ? get certificates,? learn a skill and trade.
? Make yourself Valuable to employers and the marketplace ?

Or, continue to be exploited ✔
but I thought they considered us valued partners ?

Uber is trying to push out apps where it is actually a middleman so that it can use that argument in its actual business' legal battles.

If Uber is actually a middleman then it can't have any control whatsoever over the workers and can only be taking a service fee from the companies themselves and not taking money from drivers.

Can you imagine working in a skilled job that you spent years at college for while giving Uber half of what you make? Sure Uber will state they only take 20 percent or so like they do about drivers but then when drivers actually see what they make they realize that the take actually reaches 80 percent of the fare. how is that going to work in the workplace? Is this the future of work in the United States just like they are supposed to be the future of transport? This craziness has to stop but then in order for it to stop we need a country that does not believe greed, corruption, and lying are all positive traits for people and a society.

Sure, not a bad idea. However, according to your logic - everybody who 'cleans toilets' (cleans pools, gardens, lawns; drives, changes adults diapers in elderly houses and etc) deserve to die under poverty level. Hmmmm... What's wrong with that principle? The Leader Of The Free World & The Best Country On Earth, USA, thinks that's totally fine. ROFLMAO!
If THAT is normal within world's richest county - USA should enjoy their "Why Would I Care" attitude in a solitude &
shut-up / quit teaching others how to live life until robots start doing all that "dirty" work...

Later, when the society gets to this point, we can come back for re-evaluation. It's not really about the "who deceived what"
But that if people are contributing to the better of society TO THE BEST THAT THEY CAN - they should be able to make sustainable wages. NOT EVERYONE has an ability (not opportunities) to claiming up on education ladder. Mental capacities vary...

Steve Jobs of the world can have whatever achievable. But that doesn't mean, that cleaners, elderly-sitters, drivers and etc deserve to be homeless. One has nothing to do with another. Do you know that federal government pays for every working person with mental disabilities, extra money so they become employable? This people have more money monthly that the above "uneducated" (as you put it) group?

You have to ask what is so messed up about employment law that a company can come ismand get a big cut of the middle. If it takes 20 an hour to,get someone to do a job....why would employers rather pay 30 thru Uber?
