Just got this text from Lyft

Happy Mother's Day from Lyft! Today especially, we're grateful for all the moms on the road - and everyone who goes above and beyond for family.

Got nothing from Uber. :frown: Point to Lyft  More at

Yea, Lyft is equivalent to a sociopath, so I'm not surprised. "To all of the Lyft Payday Loan app drivers who are mothers and are making less than minimum-wage, Happy Mother's Day!"

Personally, I do not consider Lyft to be any better than Uber in any meaningful way like money, benefits, etc. In other ways, Lyft is worse than Uber, like $2500 vs $1000 insurance deductible and fewer pings per hour in many markets. In-App tipping is nice and the one thing constantly pointed to, but not that big a deal to me. However, I have to give Lyft "style points" for things like this. It costs Lyft little or nothing, yet Uber cannot be bothered to do the same.

Lyft has been good to me today... Lots of short $20 trips in the city taking everyone to mothers day brunch.

Yup. I had the worst night of my RS Driver experience last night, and confronted some stark realities as a result. I shared my story (will post that tonight) with one of the few PAX I picked up and asked what he thought about the Lyft vs Uber thing. He raised a very interesting point. Google is now going to step into the legal arena and shine the spotlight on so many things that Uber wants very badly to hide as it drags them through the courts. The media will sensationalize this to the point that Uber will be doomed in the court of public opinion leading to a groundswell of Lyft converts. That means Lyft is positionined to do whatever the fuuuuhk it wants to grow share in their competing markets. The daily news of this trial will be the best thing that ever happened to Lyft, and the worst thing to ever happen to its drivers. In fact it's already started.
