Jealous of other cities...

So like most drivers, tips are a rarity.

This last weekend, I was in Niagara Falls on business, and I Uber'd for about 4 hours in some downtime. 50% of my pax tipped me in the app!

My car isn't different, my dealings with them weren't different, the only difference was I relied on Waze more as I didn't know where I was going.

WR paxs are either really cheap, or Niagara paxs are very generous!

How did you Uber in Niagara Falls without going through the police background check etc?

Nope, Chevy Sonic.

When I was at the Greenlight Hub on another Airport trip that I couldn't pick up a return pax, I was told if I brought him my Safety Certificate (It was due a few weeks away) he would add me to Toronto. I went and got a safety nearby (and cheaper than in Waterloo Region) and took it back to the Greenlight. He said he would also add in London and Barrie. [London works for me, but I'm never Ubering near Barrie] I told him I go to Niagara on business a few times a year, and he added me there too. (I would of pushed for Ottawa as well, but I'm not paying for a safety twice a year for the occasional trip up there)

Niagara Falls riders are cheap as hell! I live there and drive there. I would know. American Tourists in the Tourist District are there with family and girlfriends and trying to impress them and American Culture says tip. Asian cultures, Brits, Aussies don't have a tipping culture. Canadians tip 10 percent at restaurents and 15 percent for good service. Americans tip 15 percent standard and 18 to 20 percent for good service. I guarantee it was Americans tipping you and not locals coming home from their shift at the Casino! If you take an Uber twice a day on your work days and do this 5 times a week you are not tipping $5 everytime some Uber bloke takes you to your job.

Yes, Niagara Falls NRP is very sticky with who drives. You need a Police check.

Uber EATS is even worse, limited tips. Uber has pounded it into people's heads that you don't tip the driver.

Casino to BMO and return....

[Granted, me being "added" took a month or so, but I've done p/u's in London, Niagara and Toronto outside of my home base of Waterloo]
