I've only ever had good experiences...

I'm new at Ubering peeps here in Vegas, just under three weeks. I love it. I'm averaging $20 in tips per day, today I went home with $55.00 in cash (so it was a good day), and literally ALL of my passengers have been really cool, no one has barfed in my car, no one has been impolite, and if I get a less than 5 rating I learn what I can from the experience and move on. I divided my hours online by my earnings this week and so far with tips I'm earning 21.92 per hour. My question is this: am I weird? Because my Uber driving experience has been really great. I mean... So far. I understand there may be some "bad" days ahead or less than cool pax (and I will handle these situations with care and good customer service, I hope) but honestly, I just don't see why all the drivers here are so unhappy. What am I missing? Cuz ya'll seem a bit nuts to me. Seriously...

$21.92 per hour is not bad for starting.
That's what I was thinking. I've done some Rio - Thomas & Mack rides (those have been good this week, airport, and outskirts rides - those are longer. I've taught myself how to pick up at casinos, and have been able to tell people visiting here for the first time what's fun, because I'm listening to my other more seasoned pax tell me what's happening around town. I think this is a very cool fun job... I'm doing this right, right? I just wanna know what's the catch.

hahaha you made me silently shake with laughter
Ok... So tell me what's ahead. Sounds like you got the inside scoop. Maybe this chat is riddled with taxi drivers trying to discourage uber drivers? Maybe many of the drivers in this forum just aren't cut out for this type of work? Maybe there are just a bunch of people haters here...or maybe I just don't get it. Yet.

Regardless of how much you actually make after the expenses, you seem to have the right attitude. That should help you last a while. Good luck driving

I really do thank you. Honestly, I'm in love with this opportunity. but I'm wise enough at my age to know I will have my share of pot holes, which I will happily deal with. The freedom to work as I please plus awesome people makes me want to be driving more and more. And the money's just not that bad...

No scoops...just a little experience. Some days will be good. Some not so. If a rider gives you to much trouble, cancel the ride. 9/10 times you will be sorry otherwise.
I did have an "experienced driver" from northern CA as a pax, he told me he was clearing $1500 a week (lies I tell you!) there and rated me bad, even tho his ride was good - he was kinda a know it all. But I still thought he was polite enough and I don't let things like that ruin my day or week, just a learning experience. I mean it's not perfect, but it's 99% perfect. So far.

Each driver must develop their own style.
That should take you a month or so.
Then,worry about fine tuning.
Perhaps, you have new ideas and methods no one has thought of yet.

I agree with the freedom part. Riders can be interesting. Mostly good though.

Or perhaps he is a liar and never drove in his life.

What makes you think he rated you bad ?

Sounds spitefull.

Maybe us drivers would be better off encouraging positivity with each other... Maybe some of you just need a hug...
