We know that, "the closest driver gets the ping is BS" and many think based upon their experience the brand new drivers get priority for pings so they can get suckered into altering their lifestyle to drive more. What about this? Do you guys think they try to equalize the pay and distribute the pings like socialism?

Uber is merely " setting the Hook" in the ' 'New Fish ' they have caught

Sort of like Casinos do with new card holders.

No, it's a giant scam...

It's redistributing money into the hands of..

Well the A-holes collecting bonuses and salary from uber, out of everyone elses pockets.

we know it's all about pushing the money to the top of the politically correct hierarchy. What I mean to ask, do they distribute the pings based upon drivers earned income. For example, one driver has $500 for the week yet the guy next to Mr 500 only has $75 for the week, will the ping go to Mr 75?

Neither, probably.
More likely to one of their newest (i.e. naive) recruits.
As accurately posted above:

Been doing this a yr, asking myself frequently what's the reasoning behind the ping assignments on Lyft.

I believe one factor is the cancel and accept rates. I have spent waaaaay too many hours exploring other possible causes... I also believe that Lyft intentionally assigns longer pickups and longer rides to people that are on track to hit PDB bonuses.

U/L use their platforms to push their social agendas. Giving more business and profits to cities and specific drivers who they perceive to carry their same values.
