Everyone takes pool, tips the difference between pool and X, still saves money, driver gets paid far more than X, and Uber loses.

Uber pool: 3.99
Uber X: 16.50

Rider takes pool, tips $5-$8 and still saves $8-$5.

Driver makes standard driving fare, plus $5-$8 per passenger.

Uber loses on every aspect.

The downside of course being that Uber wouldn't last more than a month.

While some would argue Uber itself is the equivalent to the Fast Food revolution, where before everyone in the food service industry were tipped, there's no denying that Pool is most DEFINITELY the equivalent. If they're only willing to pay fast food prices, willing to sacrifice good services for cheap costs, why would they want to tip?
