Curious if any of you know how long the airport placards are supposed to be valid for?? Are they good indefinitely? Just for a year? Or just for that vehicle?
I took, passed, and received my placard some 2 years back. Since then, I've had to switch to a different vehicle, but since the placards apparently only list one vehicle, apparently I had to get a new one for.
I asked Lyft support if they could send me one for the new vehicle, yet they never did. I've since heard that we have/had a deadline to get new ones, and that we could go into a hub to receive one.
So lo and behold, I use my day off to go to one of the hubs in the L.A. area-- located at the Service Desk of a mall-- only to be told that there's NO Service Desk at that mall, and seemingly no Lyft support there (which I suppose shouldn't surprise me, it was on a list that hadn't been updated in over a month...).
Go home, write Lyft Support pointing out that it wasn't there, and couldn't they just send me a new placard?? (since I've already passed the exam). They ask my address to do so, then check their records-- not sure how long they keep them for-- only to tell me they have no record of my having passed. I ask them to check under a different email (since I've since changed mine w/ customer service), and include the actual old email from 2 years back with the name of the person who acknowledged that I'd passed. The same unhelpful rep just insists that I have to take the exam again (sadly I can't seem to find my old one to take a photo/send that in as proof, assuming that would make a difference...).
Seriously, why would you ask my address to send me one, then f'in backtrack?? Anyone know how long they keep their records for? Anyone had to retake their airport exam before?? (it's all the more annoying because I really only drive PT, and have never bothered with/wanted to deal with the hassle of an airport pickup...).
