Help! Uber signing me out of app

I recently downloaded a new Uber update and declined two rides in a row. A message came up saying I had to accept the third request or be signed out of the app. The request was 20 minutes away so I declined and was signed out, erasing all my settings. I had to pull over and enter my password and re adjust everything in the app. Is this happening to anyone else??

Mine kicks me off after 3 missed/declined pings. But I’ve never had to enter a password or change any settings.

It hasn’t happened to me yet, but I’ve read plenty of stories here where it does happen. I suspect we will all experience it eventually.

Thanks for the replies. I do decline ride requests often but it appears I am being singled out for it. I am disabled and can only accept a few requests per day so I will never qualify for Uber pro. I choose those requests wisely and am now being punished for it. I will try to post a screen grab next time I am online.

I don’t think you’re being singled out. I think they are rolling it out slowly in this area. I decline a LOT of pings. My acceptance rate is currently 8%.

I guess I better figure out what my log in information is 😂

Maybe this is Uber’s way of stopping drivers from manipulating surges. I’ll just decline 2 then accept then cancel clicking one the reasons given for canceling

Yes, It's happening to me as well. Signed me out after turning down requests from 20, then 18 and lastly 27 mins away. I took some screenshots... This is going to be a nightmare now. They never do anything to benefit the drivers... remember that...
Thank you for posting the pictures. This is exactly what has been happening to me. It's terrible. It erases all your settings and takes quite a while to log back in. I found a report about it on reddit from New York back in March but it has been corrected since April. It will cause more riders to wait longer than before and is really stupid. I guess they assume everyone will just blindly accept all trips. What a stupid update.

Just another Uber improvement designed to keep you safer by focusing more on the app than the road. Remember, it's not about you or driving safety, it's about Uber and it's app.

I get the prompt to STAY ONLINE or GO OFFLINE all the time after 3 declined requests. It’s been that way for a long time. I don’t ever get signed out of the app entirely, though. Must be a new “feature” for bottom-rung UberPros.

Remember the days when they used to put you in “time-out” for declining 3 in a row?

surges? What surges? They should want the surges since they take all of the profits from them. Drivers no longer get surges (and no 1.50 here 4.00 there are not surges). So wouldn't they want drivers to manipulate surges and at this point wouldn't drivers not want surges since they aren't getting any of the proceeds? Just more games from a company of millennials who have no sense of ethics, morals, or principles. Every week it seems they bring out a new game to test on drivers. JUST PAY A FAIR WAGE< CHARGE PAXOLES A FAIR FARE and maybe, just maybe you will see your stock go up albeit I hope and pray it sinks like the titanic.

I usually get requests for a photo when on the freeway as well. Of course I have to pull over for it. Can’t wait to start having to log in every 3 declines.

It's not right that they are doing this. As independent contractors we should not be punished for declining trips. It's bad enough they hide all the information about trips as it is but this just makes it worse. I emailed support and got the run around for about 15 messages then they said it was an app error and they were aware of the issue and trying to fix it. From google searches I've done, this appears to be an issue in different markets as they expand the uber pro update.

This is one I get as well, very frustrating. The camera angle isn't aligned correctly either so it makes taking the photo difficult. After the last update it only shows the map instead of my face.

Lol you think millennials are the ones responsible for uber’s lack of morals? Capitalism is to blame, and no generation is doing more to undo the greed and immorality of capitalism than millennials. All efforts to increase pay find their biggest support amongst millennials. On top of that, the current ceo of Uber is 50, and the founder is 43. I would be very surprised if there are any millennials on the board either.

The “evils” of capitalism are why there is an Uber in the first place. There would be no Uber in socialism. Socialism doesn’t innovate. Socialism collects and controls all activity and distributes its ever-diminishing returns.

Yeah perhaps in the Tucker Carson fear-mongering version of socialism that is true. No one is calling for that. Socialized healthcare and taxing the rich is a far cry from ending capitalism.

Exactly. Take a look at the countries that are consistently rated as having the best quality of life......all Scandinavian countries, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Switzerland, etc.. I lived in New Zealand where there were many social system in place, including healthcare, which meant the citizens could concentrate on their careers/life instead of coming up with money to pay bills for medical care that exploit all. I have lived around the world from the developed to the undeveloped and can unequivocally state that socialism is a necessity in this day and age. In an age when greed is at the core of all transactions whether it is corporations (Uber/Lyft) and quasi leaders (Trump and his "Justice Department" and Senate), it is obvious if a society is going to progress (and that does not just mean the top 1 percent who you give tax breaks to), there needs to be some social systems in place. Capitalism has gone to the extreme in the US where laws used to mean something but now it is all about having money and connections which, in my opinion, is the core structure of third world countries where laws are only laws if you don't have the money or connections.

I agree that “crony” capitalism is bad, where people like Elon Musk and companies like Solyndra get billions in tax money. That was Barack Obama’s kind of capitalism. He got millions from Wall Street, Hollywood moguls and auto unions. Why? He gave them loans, bailouts, subsidies and in the case of the UAW, a 25% share of GM.

Some of the socialist utopias you mention are reconsidering their dive into socialism. Most of them live and breathe under the protection of the United States. Their healthcare is not the greatest. Why not? Prices are fixed and there is no incentive to develop new drugs and protocols. That’s done in the United States and we pay for it. If there was no incentive to take chances and invest in possible new cures they won’t happen. You think the best doctors, who come out of medical school with 6-figure school debt want to work for peanuts? Oh, wait, you want to make college totally free. Who pays? Why, those evil rich people like Mark Zuckerburg, Jay-Z, Warren Buffett, Tom Steyer, Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren.

What we need to do is what Trump proposes — make drug companies share costs with these social medicine countries that aren’t paying their fair share.

Look, you’re free to not drive for Uber and Lyft. God knows they are squeezing drivers. But the free market will determine the fate of those companies. Like in socialism, at some point you run out of other peoples’ money. Investors will only subsidize these money pits for so long.

By the way, the top 5% pay over half the taxes in this country. If you confiscated all their wealth you couldn’t fund the Green New Deal for a year.
