Why is this valet looking guy taking pics of plate numbers? I wasnt ubering and took off my uber trade sign, I just dropped of my friend at the side of Goldspike at downtown. He told me to go, I was only there for a sec
and he started taking pics with his cellphone wtf is his problem and for what? Anyone here knows why and for what?

I follow every rule. I only dropoff at the spots set by uber. I have had my photo once at New York. I got out of the car and walked up right to him and took his photo. He did not say on word. The bully in me felt at peace.

Uber doesn't set anything. The hotels do.
And I would reiterate as I have many times, never had a problem dropping people where they want to be dropped off (in a legal spot) outside of the Golden Nugget.

Dude no worries. He can't do jack shit. Flip him the finger next time. I do it all the time to valet and doorman and taxi driver who cut me and limo and shuttle drivers who tells me to move from uber pick up area.

He is doing it again. Taking pictures and a parking enforcement cop car was in the lot writing tickets. My riders were Gold Spike customers, and asked the guy what was the problem, he just smiled. We can't drop on the street, and the lot is the only drop area for this property. Wonder what is their problem? Golden Nugget- Rideshare pickup area plugged with both Rideshare and non-rideshare vehicles- no drivers inside- have seen this at other properties also-wtf? Uber and Lyft need some supervisors to police these areas, and perhaps deactivate the bad apples and identify the fakes for law enforcement.

Gold spike or golden nugget ?
Photo guy at Gold Spike side parking lot off LV Blvd.
Golden Nugget- rideshare pickup/dropoff area at the rear off Bridger is plugged with both rideshare vehicles and non-rideshare vehicles with no drivers in them. Same as every other property with a rideshare pickup area- Treasure Island, Caesars, Rio, etc. If rideshare is waiting 5 minutes for a pickup, there should be a driver in the car with the app turned on with the rider up on the screen. If not, they should be booted from the property, so we can get in and do our job. If not rideshare, they should be booted from the property. The rideshare pickup zones were established for a reason. Both Uber and Lyft say no staging on casino property except in designated staging areas. Wynn has a rideshare staging area that is usually empty. Hmmmm.

When uber eats launched I did a 2 second delivery there hardly even stopped, he told me to watch for the ticket in the mail. I have re-newed registration since then and have never heard another word. The only ticket I ever actually got was taking a nap on 6th street waiting for a ping I actually got a ticket "sleeping in occupied vehicle"

Oops! I guess that ends my downtown napping sessions!

I've had all kinds of rent-a-cops take pictures of my car. And make all kinds of threats. If they don't have a badge, I don't give a crap.

Had a drop off there last month. Stopped in front for 30 seconds while riders got out. Guy came over and took picture of my Uber sticker and license plate. I drove off. Week later got a parking ticket in the mail for $50. Ticket was for parking on bike path. If you look during the daytime there's a green striped path with a bike logo on it that runs in front of the Goldspike. Ticket was from City of Las Vegas Parking Services. It even came with a printed copy of the pictures. Now I'm extra careful where I drop and pick up downtown .

Amazing, bet it cost the city more than $50 to process and send you a ticket. Once again our tax dollars are hard at work protecting us.

So about a week ago I was about to do a drop off at the fire lane at gold spike, the security guy did a sign to keep moving. So I got the stop light and the passenger jumped out and I seen the same guy take a pic off my plate. I assumed it's just to scare you, but today I checked my mail and received a wonderful ticket for $50. I'm about to appeal it. There are no photos attached and my light was red with 3 cars ahead of me.

Security taking pics at Premium Outlet North also, at bus stop on Grand Central.
Its a real hotspot for rideshare pickups.
That's bc the pax put their gps point right there. I've gotten myself a few good cancel fees from that location. Thanks for the heads up. I won't be taking pickups there anymore

It appears that we can only pickup and dropoff on private property in Las Vegas. Except where tolerated, such as the Plaza, at the front of the taxi line, and then only until they get a hair up their ass, and decide to enforce the law. Planet Hollywood dropoff was the tour bus stop on LV Blvd until recently. Now there is a police car parked there all the time, perhaps as a hint to all. At the Gold Spike, is the parking lot on the LV Blvd side city or private?
