Hi,

I report BAS annually. Is annual BAS still the same price, $49?

Hi there,

By law, any individual providing driving services (i.e. Uber/taxi services) must lodge their BAS on a quarterly or monthly basis.

So, it's recommended that you call the ATO to check and change your registration to quarterly (if required).

For more info, this site may be helpful (GST queries on the Taxi industry, which would generally apply to Uber driving as well)
https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/GST...sters/Taxi-industry---issues-register/?page=2

The price both monthly and quarterly BAS submissions is $49. Annual income tax return submissions are priced at $79.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I just called ATO and changed my reporting period from annually to quarterly.
In the 1st quater I just started logbook in the middle of August.

Can I mix km method and logbook method? E.g., km method for Q1, and logbook for Q2, 3, 4?

Regards,

Hello,

There shouldn't be any problems in changing methods from one quarter to the next. As long as:
  • one method is used per quarter (i.e. don't change methods mid quarter);
  • either method being used is fair and reasonable according to ATO guidelines; and
  • both methods being used are documented.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Just in case you weren't aware, Airtax has an integration for Uber driver partners!

To simplify your tax, you can link your Airtax account with your Uber account. When completing your BAS submission, your earnings will be fed directly into Airtax. To implement this, make sure you select ‘rideshare driver’ in your Airtax account settings.

Another quick tip to get more out of Airtax...

You can integrate your Airtax account with any NAB bank account. Feed your transaction history straight into your BAS forms in Airtax for faster business deductions and maximised lodgements. Learn more here.

HI Alicia
Does Airtax work with any other rideshare/share economy platforms, e.g. GoCatch/Airtasker, etc?

Hi there,

Yes! Airtax was built for sole trader ABN holders, to submit BAS and income tax returns easily online.

At present our direct API integrations are with NAB and Uber however we're always on the look out for others to improve the experience for our users.

Hope this helps.

Hi Overuber,

The standard process is.. once you've submitted your BAS and we've lodged it with the ATO, you'll receive email confirmation. You'll then receive a Notice of Assessment from the ATO to your nominated postal address outlining the final outcome.

Please get in touch with Akansha via [email protected] if you have any concerns.

I hope this helps.
