Seattle Police say the SUV hit another car and lost control. Witnesses say the SUV went another two blocks before hitting the gas pump sparking a fiery explosion.

Uber confirms the driver of the SUV was working for them and was carrying a passenger, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

he driver of the sport utility vehicle was evaluated at the scene for signs of impairment. He was taken to a hospital where a sample of his blood was taken after a warrant was obtained.

Uber drivers sure are making headlines on a daily bases with crashes and accidents while at fault. These cases must be driving insurance claims mad.
They blame the driver distracted on the app. They say file a claim with your own policy. They deny the claim and say use Ubers. In the meantime your in legal limbo and are without a car, income or support. It's a total MESS!

This coverage is all fostered by Uber, setting the stage for justifying the switch to driverless cars as soon as the technology is available. Don't you doubt it for even a micro-second.

Well so far they don't know who was at fault for the accident, but I really want to know what was going on inside that car for that final 2 block ride. If the pax who was in the car is reading this..........do tell!

Oh wait, your probably suing Uber for 2 million aren't you so your attorney already told you not to talk. Yep. Doesn't matter if the other car's driver was snorting coke, texting while driving, and making a bagel sandwich on the dash, you are suing Uber. OK I guess I'll have to wait til the story comes out.

Kiro 7 news just announced that the Uber driver is at fault and he is being charged with vehicular homicide. The other driver of the Honda civic that he hit, died today. They interview a witness who said the Uber Suv passed him and many other vehicles at a high rate of speed. The witness said the Uber driver was weaving in between lanes and excelerating. He said the guy was making calculated lane choices and was driving very aggressively.

The witness stated that he had just said to his daughter, who was a passenger in his car that, "That guy is gonna end up in a ditch or even kill somebody. " It was then that the Uber Suv struck the Honda civic, splitting it in two. The Uber driver then accelerated even more away from the scene, before appearing as if it lost control and ran off the road into the gas station, and plowing into the gas pumps.

The news showed the mangled black Suv with the Uber logo in the back window and the driver standing nearby as a police officer was standing next to him, drawing blood from his finger tips. (BTW the driver looked older, they said he was 60 and he looked it, and definitely eastern European. ) Kiro said today that his toxicology came out negative for any drugs or alcohol. They also said there is no evidence of the driver mistaking the gas for the accelerator. I guess the only thing that is going to save this idiot is if his vehicle lost its brakes for some reason other than the knucklehead forgetting to put brake fluid in the reservoir. After all, an innocent commuter lost his life today.

More uber bad press. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased. Be safe out there.
