Thank you for your interest in becoming a London Rides Driver.

We’d like to take a moment to tell you about our organisation and invite you to join us at an Information Session to learn more about this opportunity, to meet the team and experience our vehicles.

About us

At London Rides, we are a private hire vehicle company, improving the point to point transport experience for passengers and drivers using purpose-built London Taxi vehicles. We provide drivers with the opportunity to earn more money in a significantly safer professional environment.

Results from our trial fleet in Perth showed:

  • Drivers earned 40% more than a regular taxi
  • Drivers enjoyed a shift utilisation rate of 63% compared with 45% for a regular taxi
  • Passengers loved the London taxi experience so much they would wait up to 10 minutes for a vehicle even if a regular taxi was immediately available.
We are looking for great people who enjoy providing great service:

  • As a Principal Driver, you will be your own boss for half the daily cost of a traditional taxi. At $150 per 24-hour day, your daily rental rate includes registration, insurances and maintenance. Payment of a $3000 bond secures the keys to your own fully maintained London Rides vehicle.
  • Alternatively, as a Support Driver you can rent a vehicle on an hourly basis driving for one or more Principal Drivers, covering shifts that work around your existing commitments.
  • And there's no greedy commissions - not 25%, 20% or even 10% commissions! You get to retain all your Fares.
To help get your new business on the move, for Drivers signing up prior to 31 December 2016, we provide the first week's rental free and for Principal Drivers' a rental discount scheme through to March 2017 (conditions apply).

And lastly, our driver training programs complete the picture, helping you to build a successful London Rides business.

What makes a great London Rides Driver?

  • You will love meeting people and providing passengers with a unique experience
  • You will be over 21 years’ old
  • It is not essential to have professional driving experience but you will have a sound knowledge of Sydney city geography
  • You are well presented, a great communicator and able to interact with all passengers
  • You must be eligible for the RMS Private Hire Vehicle Driver Authority, which requires:
    • a current unrestricted/unconditional NSW driver's licence
    • held an unrestricted/unconditional Australian driver's licence for at least 12 mths
    • Australian citizen or PR, a NZ citizen or hold a visa allowing you to work in Australia
    • appropriate driving record, medical assessment and criminal history.
Information Sessions

If this sounds like the right move for you, we invite you to take the first step in our recruitment process and join us for an information session. You will:

  • experience our brand-new London Taxi vehicles
  • meet the London Rides Directors as they detail the business model;
  • hear about the big plans we have in store.
Upcoming Information Sessions will be confirmed at a later date.

Phuc me, to pay $150 per day picking up $10 nursing home, medical and hospital jobs. Yeah right say's the driver. This is just another way of selling the product to the naive politicians.
Unfortunately, these nitwits do not understand we are not ambulance or bus drivers with a set wage that comes with perks, such as super and leave that comes with a full time job.
Phuc this, wake up idiots.

The economics don't make sense it's a 80k vehicle for the same price as a taxi plus the driver needs a 4.9 rating. The only advantage I see is safety screens for drivers.

The figures aren't that outrageous as most of you are just negative all the time lol

With uber you pay your own:
Insurance
Rego
Car service/maintenance
As well as buy your own car that is worthless when your finished with it......

And you might pay an average of $120 in commission to uber per day roughly...(maybe more on busy fri sat nights)

Plus this gives you the option or renting out the car when your not driving allowing you to recoup some of the 150 per day it costs you

Obviously it's all a matter of getting and finding the work and I'm assuming there aren't any hidden surprises but the numbers aren't as bad as some of the posts on here make out

$120 commission per day on Uber that means that you have to gross $600,for that you will need to sit in the car at the best 20 hours per day.

Surely he's gotta be a shill for London Rides.

>$1,000 per week(!!!) to get a car from them, versus lease a Camry for under $300 per week with unlimited km. Plus presumably you're locked into their platform and can't do ridesharing for any other company. Uber wouldn't let you do it a vehicle signwritten for a competitor anyway. So how many pings in an average day? Maybe 1 if you're lucky.

He's dreaming!

They have said there is no greedy commission like 20% or 25% or even 10%. But as they have mentioned that you have to pay them $150 per 24 hours, then what could be more greedier then that, when you would barely make $200 on quite days like Tuesday or Wednesday leaving you less $150 + $18 GST + tax . Seems like they are offering a bite of salted cashews per hour, another astonishing company to dodge us on and on .
