If you have joined UberPeople.net because your Uber account was hacked, you've likely been taken in by a scam. Please read this before starting a thread on this subject.
You should search your vehicle after every ride if possible (at least give the back seat a once over glance) and more in depth check after every "shift." The police need your consent to search the vehicle. However, if a K9 is present they may say that the dog has reacted to the vehicle giving them the probable cause they need to search without consent. If they do find drugs, cooperate but keep your mouth shut and better call Saul (i.e. call a lawyer immediately). Tell your lawyer what happened and let him speak on your behalf to the police.
Also remember that if the dog isn't with the officer that stops you that you DO NOT have to wait for the canine unit to get there. The Supreme Court has ruled that detaining you any longer than it takes to write a ticket is not legal.
If they find drugs in your car, and you are the only person in the car, you are in possession.
As others have said, the solution is to take 30 seconds at the end of the ride to check for pax compartment cleanliness. And not just for drugs -- it's mighty embarrassing when you don't check and the next pax points out the Burger King bag in the back seat.
