ACT Policing is urging motorists to drive safely this Easter long weekend, with double demerits in place from the first instance on Thursday, 29 March until the last instance on Monday, 2 April.

Legislation: Road Transport (Offences) Regulation 2005

DOUBLE DEMERIT POINTS COULD COST YOU YOUR LICENCE.

DOUBLE DEMERIT POINTS WILL BE ENFORCED THIS EASTER HOLIDAY WEEKEND

If you commit speeding, seatbelt/helmet, mobile phone and certain other offences during the period Thursday, 29 March until Monday, 2nd April inclusive, Double Demerit Points will apply.

If you commit other traffic offences which have demerit points, one extra demerit point will be added.

The Easter holiday weekend is a Double Demerit Point period in the ACT.
