So my first ride of the morning around 630am and it's a 9 minute scheduled pickup.
I get there and she's out in a minute, very appreciative that I was around and for driving her to work.
5 seconds in.... "Can you stop at Starbucks on the way there?"
After explaining that we don't really get paid for it and refusing her hypothetical tip, she called her friend to ask if THEY would do her this favor..... NOPE! She gets pissy because she says she already ordered her drink before asking for the stop.
After this she freaks out and yells at me to stop the car a half mile from her house. She gets out and insults me. I didn't get paid anything. ZERO
Then I get a notification in the middle of my actual next ride that I was deactivated for drugs!
I got deactivated on uber one week ago for the same reason, someone reported me "driving impaired". They reactivated my account in 24 hrs. when I asked them for a drug test.
Next time take her to Starbucks. Wouldn't your life be easier now? I took a guy from SFO last night with a stop at In and Out Millbrae...supposed to be "in and out" in 3 minutes....it took 10 minutes then trip to DiFi. He says his ratings high because he tips....I even let him eat in my car. So far, no tip, or even better, a five star! Lol
Wow WTF ! for luck of better words , that's shameful lol in & out ? for real ! that's just crazy.
You just need to have a Dashcam so you can give Uber something to back you up with , if this is like your second incedent the right thing for them to do is permanently deactivate you otherwise they very sure know riders lie all the time.
My friend had a similar case , after that I always report to uber first before any potential complaints. They may believe the first story they got.
Btw we have to do something we don’t want to , in case worst thing happen.
Make stopsss , wait for their friends, take the shitty rides...........
Sorry to hear his happened to you, it is wrong. Sometimes it’s just easier to make that stop, especially when you think it’s going to be quick.
This past Sunday I picked up a UCSF med center employee at 6:45am who asked if I’d mind stopping so he could pick up his pre-ordered Starbucks. I agreed, although I let him know it’s usually not preferred. I was lucky, it only took him 2 minutes and he came back with 2 carafes of coffee and a bag full of food. He said every Sunday a different person on his team brings treats and this was day. And yes, he tipped me $5.
I would say to go into Daly City and plead your case, hopefully you’ll be back online in 24 hours. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Sometimes it's reasonable to deny a trip and Uber can't deactivate us for it , I'm not going to Napa or st Helena around 4pm on a base ride or Walnut Creek at 2am ?!
They can request a different driver or go up to select , Hardly any select or Uber black driver out there rejecting these trips.
And heck no ! we are not going to in & out , what's wrong with these people ? Lol
One thing I do different from everyone I see on here is , I don't get into argument with riders they talk and I keep quiet lol nothing freaks people out more than silence , I ask them to get out if they resist I dial 911 on speaker.
Hells, no! SFO to Napa ~$250-300.
Once I dropped a rider at SFO from San Rafael at the international terminal at about 1 am, and got SFO to Calistoga.
3 rides - about $650.
SF to San Rafael, San Rafael to SFO, SFO to Calistoga.
Some days just come together.
I do a reverse end run for a touchdown almost every time. I like to drive business folks airport runs, commuters to work and students going long. I check on their flight time or work time, if they are early I always say, "if you have the starbucks app, I can stop at starbucks along the way, it only takes 2 minutes , no worries", 9 times out of 10 they decline but it improves my tips.
At least you know now to ask if they preordered. Every person who I've picked up who asked to stop at Starbucks has preordered, and they are in and out in a minute. All of these have been morning commuters, and it seems this is their normal routine.
I say I can stop as long as you buy me a drink too.. no one has ever said no. I get free meals and drinks every time. I even took one girl to the pharmacy to pick up a morning after pill at 3pm in the afternoon.. she was sleeping all day and called in sick after a crazy drunken sex binged night and kept crying to herself that she is such a ****. made her buy me a bag of mixed nuts.

Drivers like you are why pax take advantage & feel overly entitled. She was wrong for lying, period. We are taught as children that we can't always get our way.She should have asked him before he came to pick her up (9 minutes) & not just assume that he would be a "pushover" like...
You did nothing wrong.Next time inform Uber/ Lyft about the incident in the comment box or email after ending the ride & screenshot for proof in case reference is needed later on.I deal with it daily on Lyft, but they are good about throwing out bogus commentary & ratings.
I had a similar situation as the OP. I picked up a lady as apart of a Lyft line. She had the address as 1200 el camino real. Which is also the South SF Bart Station. As i'm around the corner, she asks, "Can we pull into this Jack in the Box here real quick." I told her, "Unfortunately this is a Lyft line and we have to continue with the route on the screen." Granted, I probably would have done it if it were a regular Lyft but even then I explain to the PAX that we get paid 0.50 cents/minute, which is actually the truth and not a lie.
Well this lady after denying her Jack in the Box, we pull into BART and she says this isn't the right destination. I show her the pin on my map and then explain this is the destination she chose. She told me it was my fault, and that if I didn't start listening to her she would call the police. She pulled up her location on the phone, and we literally went around the block to the hospital which was also 1200 el camino real. Go Figure.
She threatened to report me after the ride. I immediately sent lyft a message explaining the entire situation. And since I give 95% of my PAX 5 stars, they realized that something was up and told me they deactivated her.
I guess every so often you run into a crazy person doing this job.
Update: the in and out stop guy for 10 minutes didn’t tip like he says he puts it on his expense account and how much he loves the tipping option in the app. He claims his rating is so high in part because he tips. Que lastima, desgraciado! How do I report him to Uber for not keeping his promise?

Just let it go lol I think it has happened to all of us, some people automatically 1* anybody who says they will tip in the app,I don't but I'm yet to see someone who actually does.
The way I go through life is with the philosophy: Expect everyone to be an asshole. Appreciate when they aren't.
Even after you went the extra mile, the guy had no obligation to keep his word, and so he chose not to. Doubt they'll do anything about him not tipping as it isn't required.
Don’t the riders still have the option to add stops to their ride? She should have done that. Having said that, I on occasion will make a stop for a rider, meter running. It’s what I’m doing, right, driving people to their destinations? I enjoy the break. It’s no different than being stuck in traffic... it happens.
