Here's a helpful heads-up I got from a passenger I dropped off at the Veterans Administration. As a federal facility, traffic infractions there are handled by federal courts, which take a very dim view of spending their time on traffic tickets. A small infraction will cost you dearly. As an example, the passenger's co-worker was fined $800 plus court fees for going 5 MPH over the 20 MPH speed limit.
Yeah. Federal park rangers in the presidio have the same geavy handed approach. Used to talk to them On my way to see my side chick that worked the INN there
On military bases and other Federal facilities, do mind your Ps and Qs. Keep the speed limit; use the seat belt; do not klown kar; do not stop or park where it say not to do that; have your documents. We have more than a few of those things in the Capital Of Your Nation.
I go on a Military base frequently and if the speed limit is 25 you better be doing that. MP's will absolutely give you a ticket for 30 in a 25! Also won't be reduced like civilian traffic courts. No speeding, rolling stops, parking infractions, traffic infractions, dashcam recording and no attitude. Obey all traffic/parking rules and you will have no trouble. If you don't, things will get difficult for you quickly.
It doesn't take much to have driving privileges on a military base revoked, and civvies can be prohibited from driving on post for relatively minor offenses; a fair number of my military pax are that situation. Stick to the speed limit, if you do get pulled over, be polite and professional. Gate guards tend to be chill but MPs in cars tend to be very bored so don't give them an excuse. Let them deal with some E-2 speeding in a 2018 Camaro he can't afford.
Its obviously a new rank they are trying out....Lt Captain.
Can someone queue the scene from MASH where Hawkeye tried to get Radar into an officers club as Corporal Captain....
