Car seats

New Member
Yesterday I had to fares with young children that require car seats. This happens 3 to 4 times a month. When I tell them I can't take them they complain that others drivers take them. Do drivers not know the law and the dangers the child may be in in case of accident or even sudden stop.

"If we were to be rear-ended..."
(I'm confident in my driving, but morons are everywhere)
"...and your child were to get hurt because s/he wasn't in an approved car seat..."
(Passive voice, not blaming the pax)
"...you would never forgive yourself, and neither could I."
(Think about it, it's your child's safety we're talking about!)

Fortunately, I've never had to use this spiel, but I'm ready to. I don't give a shit if taxis allow kids w/o car seats or not--I don't, period, the end.

The parents I've driven who brought their own cars seats have without fail had them installed almost as quickly as I could open the door for them. Years of practice, I guess.
