Cancelation Fee Cut in CT

Just recently I had a canceled ride and I was only payed $4.00 instead of $8.00 and I wrote UBER and they said: (copy/paste)

Sorry for the confusion with regards to the cancellation fee in your city, Robert. I'm glad to check this for you.

Sorry to inform you that the cancellation fee in your city went down from $10 to $5.00.

Based on rider feedback, the $10 cancellation fee resulted in a highly negative experience for riders and led to overall decrease in ridership.

We believe this new $5 cancellation fee will help riders take more Uber trips, helping you stay busier every time you log on.

We’re excited about these changes to the cancellation fee structure, and think they will go a long way to improve the experience for both drivers and riders in your city.

We are hoping for your kind understanding in this matter.

I wrote back and told them they are full of shit because ride requests have been increasing drastically in New London County because of all the summer concerts and events going on (from the casinos), I am getting pings during rides all the time or seconds after dropping off a PAX one after another, so It`s bullshit to say there is an overall decrease in my area and when they sent me a survey on my satisfaction with the person answering my question I got a computer generated response back unrelated to my message and I wrote back telling them I am an IT guy I know a CG message when I see one and it`s bullshit, they have yet to respond back probably because they don`t know how with out a computers help.

That was changed Lat week when thy cut rates in Hartford county. I didn't think it changed in rest of state, but maybe cancel fee did

I have to admit, since it was changed I've maybe only had two people cancel after th five min mark, and maybe only once did I cancel for a no-show

I noticed the cut only when the PAX canceled after 5 min. and one when I actually arrived at the pick up point, I told UBER support I wasted my gas to have them cancel and all I get is a lousy $4 and they said it was in my area (New London County) they did the cut, I don`t know about other areas and PAX are cancelling more now that it does not cost as much too, so its having a reverse affect...more cancels rather then less. Oh I had one no show last week and only got $4 for it after waiting over 5 min. and they called me to have me pick them up somewhere else for a 2 mile fare and I told them I already canceled and ignored there new request.

Do you know how long we have to work @ these 15% lower rates and why doesn't uber drop their fee to us when they lower the fares ? Do they do this BS every summer ? Thanks, Bilmac

UBER did make 1 change that's good for us...I was on the riders app 3 days ago and it said: be ready when you request a ride because 2 min after the driver arrives you will be begin to be charged, because are drivers can`t sit and wait there time is valuable and could be accepting other rides... (So we will see how that works out)

Riding with an Uber driver named " CRASH" would make me nervous.

This benefits uber more than us at 10 cents per minute.

I haven't seen any evidence of this feature in Hartford

I saw that last night when I got a car to Grand Central. I wasn't sure if it would apply here.

Anyone have any actual experience?

Sorry, but Malloy will have a good job in the Hillary administration and he will be replaced by another Dem. I know you only high school educated Trump buffoons think he has a chance, but the bigot will be crushed.
I finished both high school and college, support Trump, and I drive Uber a couple of nights a week to fill out my retirement account. How are you doing, genius?
