A dozen rides last night. I bet 1/2 to 3/4 were booty calls. I can pretty much rule out two or three. (See my other post for WHY I notice.)

A lot of stuff goes on in my head, especially when riders aren't conversing, and it's a rare booty call candidate who talks to a driver. It's no surprise that I notice patterns and draw conclusions. I LIKE PEOPLE (until I don't)! It's curiosity, call it creepy if you want. I admit to amusement, intrigue, and okay sometimes bits of jealousy? judgyness? often a "you go girl (guy)" factor.

BIRTHDAY BOOTY
Recently a rider interrupted his own phone call to ask, "If I give you a cash tip can you stop at a gas station so I can pick up some condoms?" Yes, he ran in and was quick. Now off the phone, we had a fun and laid back convo. At the end, since he had a sense of humor, I said, "Did you really get condoms?" (Possible he was pranking me or just trying to shock the person on the phone--his ex who apparently would normally have been in bed with him on that day.) He said yeah. I told him "Mayor Lightfoot would NOT consider this essential travel. I need to turn around and bring you back." Then as he got out , I said "If you have a good time tonight, remember you who made it all possible!" He said he would remember me in the app. I didn't realize what he had handed me when he got out of the gas station was A TEN-SPOT! I'm pretty sure he gave me $2 in the app.

SIGNS
* Most booty call riders say almost nothing to the rider. Plenty don't, but hookup passengers--often nothing except verifying identity and address. No "Whew, long day" or "can't wait to get to sleep" or "I can't believe I have to be up by 6."
* Request name is male, rider is female (or visa versa).
* Pickup or dropoff is a hotel
* Rider has a carry-on with something glass and clinky inside.
* Upon arrival, it's clear the rider has never been there before (doesn't matter if when asked their name they say, "My boyfriend/girlfriend" ordered it.)
* As we approach, the rider calls and asks someone to stand out front. (Which is kinda what Uber drivers expect....can't read the addresses? Shoes to the curb may be a clue.) If it's a man waiting, he is likely to be shirtless.

My first ride tonight was a 17 minute pickup with a 42 minute DF trip. He texted, "You will be picking up my girlfriend and bringing her to me." That's a long haul for a "girlfriend" who didn't know which side of the street her man lived on and needed him to come out and wave. He paid $47 for that. Maybe needed to double it to send her back. I wondered with a friend, is this a social media meet? Escort? Maybe long time friends, first time home visit (to play Fortress)? How much swiping do you have to do, to rule out all the women (or all the gingers or all the 128-130 lbs or can tie a bow with their tongue) between Chicago Lawn and the "far side" of Joliet?

Congratulations to all,
For let's just say, the short or long haul.
I for sure got paid, you maybe got laid.
The minute you left, I took off my mask.
What you removed, I will not ask.
One of us (so far) may have been slipped a tip
If I may be so flip
Your were safe in my car. Warm but not wet.
Don't know about later but--have you tipped ME yet?

I picked up a young lady in the Lowes parking lot on Ashland. I thought it was a bit odd because she was dressed to the nines and it was around midnight. The drop off was on the Gold Coast and after she asked me the usual " do you do this full time?", 'What's your other job?", I asked her what she does for a living and with ZERO hesitation "I'm an escort". Just kept on talking as if she told me she was a bartender. Gave me $20 cash tip when I dropped her off and opened the door for her.

I like reading comments from morons who aren’t driving Tools like you always brighten my day

To be clear not everyone that has chosen not to drive is a moron
Yes they are. Risking your life and others working for a corrupt company is pure stupidity. Most drivers are safe with their family making $4000 a month plus food stamps. I bet you used to pick up pool passengers back in the day..

Some Uber drivers are getting unemployment Probably less are getting food stamps. To say most is wrong as a large portion drive part time and have other jobs.

If you think 4K plus food stamps is enough for a family of 4 you either don’t have a family or have been living in abject poverty.

Also please come with up something better than the pool ride retort when someone says something you don’t like it. It was old 3 years ago and now it just sounds pathetic

My risk increases with each extra set of wheels on the road. Dude the traffic is lighter but patrol is just as heavy as always. Last night it rained cats and dogs so many of those squad cars were doing traffic control instead of chasing after ne-er-do-wells.

This is "risky" like putting my head on the pillow but I might swallow a spider in my sleep is risky. Like eating a salad but I might get samonila (sp?) is risky. Like getting the mail but I might slip and break my nose is risky. Like every time I turn the ignition is risky.

Butttt apparently not quite ask risky as scratching my ass while typing in my SSN on a state run website.
Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $600
Now that's risky.

When I was driving pax I would specialize in early mornings because that fits my lifestyle better than late nights do. So, I would get the "morning after" / "walk of shame" trips. The ones that cracked me up were a) the dudes who would brag about it and b) the chicks who would verbally rationalize to me that what they just did was OK, like I'm their mom or their priest or something.

My favorites were:

"It's OK because I'm going to see him again."

and

"It's OK I just [fornicated with] several co workers all night because I'm going home to eat spaghetti mom made for me."

(I wrote a whole thread about the latter.)

4k plus food stamps is more than enough for a family of 4

Some people just suck at life and continually make terrible choices like waiting 20 mins in the sunrise MCD drive thru and then say 'I have no time to cook'

Escorts and strippers are always fun rides for male drivers. I wont give anyone a ride though.

I cant wait to see the whiney ones here that have to pay taxes on all that unemployment claims.

I guess i call it being lazy. Thats all. You have your perfect opportunity now. Until you get screwed from any new law that will come on the books in the future.

Yes, that's called a prostitute. Not the same thing as a booty call, but who's keeping track, right?

I had a rider once that was an obvious hooker - she told me she was going on a "blind date", it was like 4pm on a saturday.

In Illinois the estimated for a family of 4 to get by is a shade under 70k pretax. Of which they allocate 12.5k to housing and 9k to food. Take way the food if it were all covered on food stamps you’re still at 60k. Keep in mind this is for the entire state. You won’t find a place to live in Chicago for $1k a month that you really want to live in but you won’t need 2 cars so Th ere is some offset. You still have utilities internet cable cell phone insurance etc that need to be paid. You still need to buy clothes for the kids etc. You probably have a some expenses for the car if it’s fully paid for. Taxes will also need to be paid on the unemployment, it won’t be much for a family of 4 after deductions

The thing is that everyone’s situation is different. While buying McDonald’s instead of cooking is more expensive it’s not always a waste of money as kids need to keep some form of normalcy when these things are going on. It would probably be considered a treat and not an everyday event.

My question for you is, do you have a family of 4 in order to know how expensive it actually is or are you just making shit up

No, I do not have a family but I do have advanced coaching licences on 2 different continents and see every day what kinda magic a family that actually has their shit together can do with even 30k.

Most people are terrible with money, and you defending them with emotion just shows you're compromised too.

Yes many people are bad with money. I can’t speak about a family of 4 getting by on 30 or 40k as the last time I made that little was over 20 years ago and even then it wasn’t a lot of money.
However I’m not coming at this from an emotional aspect as opposed to real life. I have 3 kids and I actually know what things cost.

Food for a family of 4 is not cheap. I don’t know where it is this year or what has actually changed but last year to quality of for food stamps the max income was about 36k and IF you were below it you would get $646 a month. So unless it’s changed due to the fed adding $600/mo someone getting 4000 a month wouldn’t qualify. If you do qualify maybe you can stretch it by eating a boatload of pasta and rice and if the farmers markets were open you can get twice the food. But not everything even qualifies for food stamps if someone has a baby or young kids Diapers and formula aren’t covered

I would love to hear what you have coaching licenses for in 2 continents
